He can score and is one of the few centers that actually can, but I agree his only game is really on the offensive side. I'd still say he's near the top but the list of decent centers is only about 10 long.

I said could be. I see:
Robin Lopez Dwight Howard Marc Gasol ..... .....
Hate to put Bynum on there because I don't think he'll ever be the same again. Sounds bad for him reaching what he was. Is Al Horford a C? IDK. I was more pointing out that the league is running on empty when it comes to big men with talent.

Center is just ugly... most guys you'd list are really PF's lol
Dwight Marc Tyson Hibbert (picking it back up) Noah
That is my top 5.
Serge, Horford are more PF Jefferson is offensive only and a ball stopper. DMC is a headcase and cancer. Asik, Brook are getting there but need to round their games out.

Don't forget Varejao. He was having a pretty great season before the injury.
Andre Drummond is promising, too.

Isn't Verejao more of a PF like Ibaka? Which Lopez is on the Nets, that's the one I meant to mention

Wasn't Brook Lopez leading the NBA in BPG for a lot of year? Or atleast in the Top 3?
He had a great first half to the season (I haven't followed up on his second half). He is playing like he is worth that contract and shit, the way Deron Williams was playing he was probably their best player.
Whoever said he doesn't rebound is 100% accurate but I think he plays better D now than he ever has and he's been a solid offensive option. I'd take him over Al Jefferson all-day-long if we are talking about playing Center.
Oh, and PEK definitely deserves mention on the list of Top Centers. His defense is better than people think. He doesn't block a lot but no one gets good position on him in the post. He's too strong.

Andre Drummond is was a nice surprise this season. If he keeps getting better he will have a bright future. Pek is awesome. There is no one quite like him in the NBA. He almost seems clumsy when you watch him play, he has very little athleticism but he compensates for that with crazy strength and his overall presence around the basket. Im a huge fan of Pek and a lot of the Wolves players in general. Alexey Shved is another player I've been somewhat impressed with. Early in the season he seemed to have transitioned pretty well and was making some very impressive plays and also showed that pressure didn't get to him in late game situations. At one point he was even in conversation for ROY but unfortunately he wasn't able to handle the grueling schedule of the NBA and seemed to have lost some later in the season. I think a full year of NBA along with an off season will do wonders for him and hopefully he can be the solid player he's already shown to be. I'm also really excited to watch the next 5 years in the NBA because the landscape will change so much. A lot of star vets will be retiring and its hard to imagine the Mavs without Dirk, the Lakers without Kobe, and the Celtics without Pierce. Fuck I love sports EDIT- Just looked it up and Brook Lopez is avg 2 blocks a game and thats good for 7th so far this season.

I was going to put Drummonds on the list but its way too early. He's definitely a specimen physically and a force to recognize in a few years. Not right now though

Don't forget Varejao. He was having a pretty great season before the injury. Andre Drummond is promising, too. Varejao was beasting! I wanted to trade DWill for him but at that time I bet Cavs say no. Drummond is a real nice player. Do he and Monroe play well together or will they need to trade one down the road for a complimentary piece?

FUARK! I hate these lists. Darko should have gone down as one of the greatest if not for the fag Larry Brown forcing him to learn defense IN PRACTICE rather than allowing him to develop his offensive game. Didn't help that he broke his shooting wrist in the last game of the NBA Finals that year, but more importantly...
He pulled BS with Darko simply because he was being a baby and didn't get his wish of Carmelo. Asking Darko, a 17-year old foreigner, to focus on being Bill Russell when it was obvious to everyone he was a Dirk/Garnett hybrid.
Fuark! Fuark! Fuark!

Well in hindsight, wouldn't you have rather had Melo? Can't blame Brown one bit, hell of a coach. Darko being a Dirk/Garnett hybrid....I don't even know what to say.

Darko has talent. Darko can score. Darko can defend. Darko has size and mobility.
But Darko has no drive. Darko has no ambition. Darko has no fire.

Of course, he gained approximately 70lbs from 2003 to 2007. How many bigs could do this? On the guy who shut down Tim Duncan in overtime of game 7 in 2006? www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NJSNeFqRZI

Pistons guard Chauncey Billups ripped former coach Larry Brown on Thursday for being too hard on Darko Milicic during Brown's two seasons with the club. In an interview with WXYTAM (1270), Billups claimed that Brown destroyed the confidence of the No. 2 overall pick in the 2003 draft.
"Larry beat him up too much," Billups said. "He tore the kid's confidence apart too much, and it was tough for him to recover. ... With (new coach) Flip (Saunders) there, maybe it's different. (Brown) beat him up too much, man, to where he could never recover."
Brown frequently criticized Milicic in the media and refused to give him meaningful playing time, saying the 7-foot-1 center hadn't earned a spot in the rotation and wasn't ready to play. Milicic created a brief fi restorm midway through last season when he griped publicly about his endof-the-bench status. A meeting among Milicic, Brown and president of basketball operations Joe Dumars eased those tensions, but Billups revealed that Milicic remained sullen and frustrated by Brown's constant rebukes.
"He beat that kid up way too much," Billups said. "The kid has unbelievable talent. There's nothing he can't do out there on the court. ... In the playoffs, we're smiling and laughing and having fun out there. I've never seen Darko smile one day ever in practice or playing, and that's a problem."
Dumars has said that Milicic will be the fourth big man in the Pistons' rotation this season behind Ben Wallace, Rasheed Wallace and Antonio McDyess, despite the recent signing of veteran center Dale Davis. Dumars rebuffed an overture this summer from the Atlanta Hawks about trading Milicic for forward Al Harrington.

Do he and Monroe play well together or will they need to trade one down the road for a complimentary piece? I don't watch Pistons games too often, but Monroe has always had trouble on defense, and this could be exploited even more by forcing him to guard mobile 4's. I think that they could work well together other than that.

It's Mark Cuban doing what he does. That we're paying attention means we're the fools.
