I have to say, I thought it was really funny. I like Rudd a lot in general, so I probably have more positive view than most. That being said, you are correct about the lack of explanation. They keep alluding to Scott's earlier crime, but there wasn't a whole lot of explanation about what his motivations were for accepting Pym's offer. I think I would have rather seen them use Pym as the main character. I never read the comics, but from what I understand, Pym is a serious player. Why waste the whole character? NY would have to give more detail, as I knew absolutely nothing about Ant-Man before this movie, but from what I've seen online Hank Pym in the comics once smacked around his wife The Wasp (or something to that effect). Rather than have to deal with any backlash in dedicating an entire movie to a character who once dabbled in a bit of domestic violence, Pym had to get pushed to the background and Lang got the nod. NY (or other comic aficionados), am I oversimplifying things or am I hitting it pretty square on the head?

Ah ok. I didn't know about the domestic abuse aspect, so that makes sense. Although that would have been a dark movie, potentially worth watching.
Does Lang have much, if any role in the comic books?
