Lance Stephenson is so bad that Charlotte had to take on $18 mil/3 years of Spencer Hawes just to get someone to take him for next year. Not sure why they didn't just cut the guy and bite the bullet. I guess Hawes and his career 35% from 3 makes him possibly the best shooter on the team.
Makes sense for the Clippers. Matt Barnes was absolutely the weakest link in their rotation, and it's not like he's going to get any better. Not sure if Lance and his isolation/inconsistent game fits well with JJ Redick and Jamal Crawford, but the Clippers do have a lot of offensive options. But if Lance hurts the team, they can cut him and still save themselves from owing Hawes money. They just shouldn't plan on going into the season with Lance starting at the 3, because 50% chance he ends the season on the bench or in the free agency pool.

The Clippers needed shooting on the perimeter in the worst way so they add the worst shooter in the NBA (to attempt over 100 3s)? Uhhhh, yep. Nope. Must mean Crawford is being dealt.

It could help or the clips could still have a terrible gm in Doc, almost no depth especially on the wing and downlow. I understand the moves, the clippers will only be as good as their wings and right now Reddick/Lance/etc are not scaring anybody in the West

If Lance works out, it'll be a spectacular move. If not, at least they saved ~$10 mil. Doc said he doesn't see Lance starting, so the Clips still have a lot of work to do. Assuming they bring back Jordan, Rivers, and Davis, they're still down a starting 3 and a backup 5 who's not 6'6".

Doc keeps targeting guys who were good when he was in Boston. Unless he gets Pierce and a bunch of other guys to take the minimum they are not going to have any depth and I don't think they can add quality unless they trade Blake of CP3. Could be way off just think that his GM'ing has put them in a really tough spot and moves like this don't make it any better.

And yeh, old Beantown guys like Davis, Nate Robinson, and even Paul Pierce at this stage probably won't make the difference. But, it's not like Hawes and Matt Barnes were any better than minimum guys, anyway. It's tough when you have 3 max guys plus the salaries of Redick, Crawford, and now Stephenson. I'm really not sure what else Doc can do, though. It's the same tough situation Boston and Miami had adding depth.

What Doc should do is get a real GM to allow him to build a complete roster. Kind of like in Boston...
I love Doc the coach, but the GM has been really iffy to be kind so far

Keep in mind that Doc Rivers, upon getting hired by the Clippers, said he took one look at that roster (DJ, Blake, Paul and future all-star Eric Bledsoe) and laughed at how bad it was. Since then here are some of his moves:
1. Traded Eric Bledsoe and a 1st round pick for Jared Dudley 2. Midway through season, traded Jared Dudley and a 1st round pick for JJ Redick 3. Signed his son Austin Rivers before he was officially out of the league - he'll probably resign him for $4+ mil per season 4. Signed Spencer Hawes to a ridiculous contract over signing Paul Pierce (who would have signed)
Yet, there's still a legion of idiots who truly believe him to be a Messiah and call anyone who criticizes his GM skills a 'racist'. *giggle*

Sounds like Towns is going #1 from all credible MN sources (at this point).
This is different from just a few weeks ago when it seemed Okafor was #1.
Sounds like Russell might even be #2 on our board at this point.

I like Russell a lot wouldn't be shocked to see him going 2, Okafor is getting killed by scouts a lot for whatever reason last few weeks. Is it THURSDAY YET!

I'm not even excited about who my Sixers take. Wake me up when Sam Hinkie has been fired.

I'm not even excited about who my Sixers take. Wake me up when Sam Hinkie has been fired. Wait, what? He's got, by far, the most manageable assets in the entire league. You guys have picks left and right coming in the next few years. You've also stashed a future stud, Dario Saric, overseas and I'm betting he comes over this year. He's drafted a future DPOY in Nerlens Noel, you have (an injury prone) franchise caliber big man in Joel Embiid, who if healthy, I believe will be a 20/10/3 guy down the road. He also got rid of that cancer known as MCW. EDIT: I don't think there's a better 'rebuilding' GM in the entire league. Not even OKC's scouting/GM department.

Mark Jackson is a huge asshole. There's stuff going back to his playing days, including his attempts to get the young Jazz players to revolt against John Stockton (the ultimate nice guy off the court) and push for him to start over the legend. See, the thing is, while Mark Jackson was known as a good player in the league, he wasn't qualified to polish a turd on John Stockton's shoes, yet he tried to poison idiots like Deshawn Stevenson to ignore and disrespect Stockton. Then, he used the Warriors practice gym to film his church sermons. Lastly, while claiming to be "a good Christian", he sent dick picks to a stripper while being married.
Oh, and one of the reasons he had an issue with Bogut was because Andrew didn't mind telling him his thoughts on religion. On the other hand, guys like Curry/Lee loved Jackson because they are both Christians.

More and more reports that Wolves made promise to Towns and then Okafor to Lakers.
Hope Kristaps doesn't end up with the Sixers. That franchise, I couldn't imagine being a fan of.
Then the Pistons trading up to 4 rumor is fun.
