yeah FFVII was great, I'm still waiting for the day there is some type of HD remake of it (pipe dream at this point). I know for most people it's their #1 Final Fantasy but I probably have a few in the series above it (X being one of them) but it's personal preference and like I said it's definitely a great entry into the series.

I stopped playing after VIII, and still love the SNES ones better than any.

The SNES ones are classics. I know they ported a few of them to mobile apps but they just didn't feel right when I tried them out (they were okay though).

Love SoM and Chrono Trigger... There's a special place in my heart for Earthbound though.

Between FFII, FFIII, ChronoTrigger, Secret of Mana and Earthbound, I bet I traded in $300 worth of SNES games one day when I worked at FuncoLand. I just decided to get rid of my SNES that I never played, and this was at a time that you could get $60 for a used copy of ChronoTrigger, and all of the Square games were super expensive.
The main office held my check and made our store do inventory to make sure I hadn't stolen the games from our stock, those assholes.

Believe it or not, for me being a huge RPG fan I never could get into Chrono Trigger. Tried 3-4 different times and it just never sank in for me. Loved Chrono Cross though on PS1

I know a lot of people were on one side or the other when it came to Cross vs. Trigger, but I was one of the few that enjoyed both I guess.

I think the big problem with CT for me was that I wasn't much of an RPG guy when the SNES was around so I played Chrono Cross and FF7 before even attempted the classic RPGs and I think it's hard to go back to those when you start with the newer stuff (At least PS1 era, cause those RPGS were all legit)

So for those wondering about South Park The Stick of Truth here goes. IF you are a fan of South Park, you SHOULD enjoy the game. Gameplay is very basic Paper Mario style, but I feel that the story makes up for it. However my biggest complaint and a reason I kind of stopped watching the show is that the game revolves around "Farts" as an attack and magic style. They do a take from Skyrim with the Dragonshouts, except that they are farts instead If you can get part that, I had alot of fun. You eventually get to go to Canada and it's all 16 bit style so that was pretty funny. Otherwise a wide assortment of cameos and side quest givers like Al Gore, Mr. Mackey, Mr. Slave. Graphics were pretty nice, like watching an episode of the show. Except for any time you'd have the auto save going (which is often) and a loading going from one area to the next definitely caused some lag and stuttering, which can be very annoying when you're just going to collect things after exploring the whole city. The mechanics are pretty basic like I said. You have "abilities" which are basically magic attacks/physical attacks that do damage as well as inflict status ailments, or give you "boosts" and then you have standard melee or ranged attacks. Overall I can't complain, I bought it from Best Buy for $48 with their Gamers Club discount, platinumed the game in a few days, get $20 worth of RZ certificates for Pre-Ordering it and got $42 on the trade in I'd give it an 8/10 IF You are a South Park fan. Otherwise probably only a 6.5/7 game.

Meh, sounds ok but not worth me putting in the cash right now...I'll wait till it is down to $25-$30 in a couple months. Same thing I'm doing with Final Fantasy Lightning Returns (which is already down over $10 since it came out last month)...very few games are "must have" for me on release day.

For sure. South Park will EASILY be a quick $30 sale I'd imagine, I'm in the same boat with Lightning Returns. I just finished platinuming FFXIII-2 and liked it alot more then I thought I would, so not looking forward to another game with Lightning and all the changes but I figure when it drops to that 30 I'll grab it. FFXIII and XIII-2 both dropped super quick, wish I had been patient when those came out

I really wish I had not picked up a 3DS XL at Christmas, although I like the Gold triforce one I got. But this bad boy looks sweet:

Yeah that's awesome looking. The Gold Triforce is still #1 for me though, so if that's the one you got I think you made the right decision.

Yeah, I have no regrets. Except that I rarely actually play my handhelds. I played the new Zelda that came with it for a couple hours and haven't gone back since. Too many console games in my never ending backlog to take the time for handhelds.

I can relate there, I don't just sit and use my handheld while in the house. I use it strictly when traveling and that means it can go long periods of time without being used. My biggest issue with the 3DS before these past few months is I wasn't in love with the catalogue. I'm still not in love with it but it's definitely much improved.

Yeah, my wife does most of the playing of the handhelds. I can't say that I've cared for more then a small handful of what's out there. I liked Animal Crossing for about a week, and I've got pretty much every RPG but then I realize that they take hours and hours and I'd rather put those into my console games I did pick up Bravely Default and would like to give that a spin though.

Otherwise probably only a 6.5/7 game. So I went ahead and picked the game up from Redbox to see if it would be worth a buy (since $2 is worth saving $60 if the game is crap). I kept the game an extra day and beat it...which is why I was not a big fan. Any RPG that I can beat from start to finish in two days of gameplay isn't a good RPG, no matter how funny the show-related references were. And I didn't just beat it...I beat every quest I could find (which was pointless, since I had level capped my character after the first 8 hours or so), found the collectibles and was basically just running around looking for anything to do. Plus, as Dave said, the fart-related schtick gets old fast. I agree, South Park fans will forgive the games issues because the game is DEEP with references. Unfortunately, it isn't deep with gameplay, meaning there is no reason to buy a game you can easily dispatch with $4 in Redbox fees.

I bought a PS4 which has been useless due to lack of games. However Tomb Raider is by far the best game for the console thus far. Waiting for Infamous 2nd Son in the mail.

Yeah Drew, depending on what you like and if you have PS+ can make a world of difference with PS4. I enjoyed Infamous SS way more then I expected too based on all the early screens and video. They did a great job with the good karma story and the side characters. I loved Tomb Raider, but also loved it on PS3 so that was good. NBA 2k14 has been decent, same with Madden. Resogun and Outlast off the network were free for PS+ members and are both pretty good. I've played alot of the games between gamefly and buying so I'm pretty happy with the purchase.
