I rarely say one side won huge but think Toronto could have gotten more by offering as pieces.

I still love the concept of Expand 4 / Contract 2 over and over... slow add. Removes lazy GMs (if all are full) ... keeps off-seasons long. Lol

I understand wanting to build up a new team, but I would think that all these players would have been able to bring in more if moved individually instead of one package like this. Time will tell I suppose

This shows what a success making new gms wait 3 sims is This, said at the time that if a new gm is going to make a bad trade it won't make a difference if they have to wait 3 sims or not. Bad move for Toronto, what kills it for me is the first added in there for what looks like a rebuilding move, sure Dantley and Rollins are good pieces but like other's have said probably would of gotten better value individually.

What bothers me most (aside from the fact the winning team is Sydney) is the fact that Raptors said he wasn't going to trade for a while as he felt out the value of the league. Then out of the blue, with no trade block, he sends off everyone except Imhoff. Did anyone receive trade inquiries from Toronto? Or did he just jump on in with this trade?

Yup, I had no idea he was trading. Anyway, this deal would have been fine without the Raptors first. Need to see if that comes back to haunt him, as it often does for new GMs. Not always though.

But its always fascinating to see how some Gms always squeeze out that additional first in a trade they are already winning. And I wouldnt be surprised if sydney asked for 2 1sts.

Guys, we have a sample size of one, so we'd probably better get rid of the three sim rule, obviously.

Well, if it makes anyone feel any better the last time I had this much support for a trade was when I moved JoJo White for a pre-lottery #3 pick and look how that one turned out!
Anyway, Toronto came to me with an offer, I made some small revisions in a counter and we had a deal. I hate when people say "I didn't know he was trading" -- don't blame someone else because you didn't reach out.

I still don't see how this stopped you from reaching out to express interest, did he block PM or never go on Skype? This just sounds like some excuse for your own negligence to exploring the trade market.

I'm surprised that Sydney responded I thought he would have just hid in the shadows until this blows over lol.
As for these revisions was that pretty much I will add John long but I need that first back because John long attributes look amazing?
As much as you make fun of other GM's for bad trades or just completely bashing them to the point that they may want to kill themselves I am so surprised that you got away scott ( no pun intended towards you j scott) free on Skype so far

This just sounds like some excuse for your own negligence to exploring the trade market. My own negligence? Hardly... I wasn't looking to trade for any of his players but as a general rule, if a GM says they aren't trading then I don't waste my time. But when they make a huge trade out of the blue, it's just discouraging because this happens time and again. I'm not the only one who thinks this, I've seen it in almost every trade comment thread where a new GM trades a stud or 3 for not a whole lot. I waited more than 2 weeks after CSKA said he wasn't trading to approach him about taking Zubkov. The point is I don't blame you. You said he approached you with the offer and you countered with a slight tweak. I would've done this trade in your position too. Hell, who wouldn't? What I'm saying is if you say your not trading so you can learn the value of players in the league, and then you do something like this.... It's clear you haven't learned much of anything about player value.

This is a pretty bad move for the Raptors. The part of this that confuses me, did the Raptors even figure out the value of these players? I mean anybody who has been around this league for a while knows this guys can get a lot. I mean I can understand if you don't like having older players and want to go with a younger team, but this is your move? The Raptors started the season 8-13 was this just a panic move? I would hope the Raptors figure out how bad this is and learns going forward.
