He's got a plan...just cause you aren't privy to the plan or don't agree with the plan doesn't mean that there isn't a plan. I don't know if that's actually true, but since every new GM says that after trade #1, I figured I'd just throw it in there.

I love CAP SPACE. I mean he's only got like 24 other teams that can offer their cap space to CAP SPACE but I like those odds

Raptors 14-4 in last 18 games. ( 3 of those losses by 5 or less). We also beat the Kings this last sim. IMO I won this trade as Kings have been mess since. My Raptors actually have performed well minus those hefty long term contracts. Me dealing my 2025 pick is only thing I regret. I didn't realize how deep some of these drafts could be. Most the JSB or FBB leagues I been in drafts are 5 deep tops... I got the best young players in deal. Dantley / Rollins.... So, no doubt I won this one big time. I have my pick this year and who knows maybe the Kings will struggle next year. " I own 24 Kings). Maybe that pick will end up better than my 2025 pick they got.... I think everyone that called me a idiot for deal should maybe say sorry... Yeah- I dealt my 25 pick. Bad mistake on my part. However, like I said I moved huge contracts, gained the best young player in deal and have been winning since... Lastly, I am not 100% sure I could have got more if I packed guys separately. West / would have been like dealing IMHOFF. Everyone wants him but wants to give up nothing to get him. Frazier- IMO is on a bad contract, and honestly a guy under contract 2 more seasons not sure what I could expect back outside maybe a decent pick or 2 tops. Shaffer- To me is the only guy who had real value in deal. So let's just say I got Dantley for Shaffer- Not too bad right? I got Rollins / 2024 Kings for Frazier!!! Sure Rollins expires; however, I moved a huge contract and got a pick for doing it. West- He again would had lowest value for me as he is a expiring Vet much like Imhoff... ( Based on offers I got for Imhoff). West offers would have been worthless... Where I screwed up was dealing my future pick... Now, though that all could change if that Kings pick turns out to be better than the pick I moved.... I just wanted to recap this deal and get people's opinions now...

West and Imhoff have value even if you fail to see it. because you (admittedly) refuse to consider re-signing either of them you are killing their value to you (and the rest of the league since they know they can sign them in FA).
Dantley is alright, and yes, probably the best young piece in the deal (as you didn't give any up so its tough to NOT say that you won that part of it) but he'S a SG who doesn't shoot (or defend) very well and will be getting PAID.
Frazier is more than a bad contract. His contract is the same length at Lee's (two years) and they are both All-Stars.
You took back a lot of bloated expiring (contrary to your believe, capspace =/= value).
And 10/10 times I'd rather control my own destiny than let someone else have run over it.
It's more like you dealt Schaffer/TOR 25 for Dantley (meh) and Frazier for expiring Tree/Kings 24 (another meh). Either keep the picks or deal them, swapping them takes you further from rebuilding.
Did you ever think people are giving you crap offers for Imhoff because you took a crap offer for all these guys while stating you had no intention of bringing him back? Why should anyone pay a lot for a guy you don't value.
Whether you had three good sims or not you still didn't do very well on this trade.

This is like the dft trade a few seasons ago. Seems to have worked out OK BUT... You could have gotten a lot more for these guys initially.

In the end, things seemingly worked out but it could've worked out for you a lot more. I'll be the first to admit that the DFT trade wasn't a good deal. It actually only worked because I didn't stop there. I kept trading and moving pieces to get to where I am. I would never consider being done after a trade like this. If you want to compete you can't move everything you have in one swift move. You just can't maximize value this way.

Training Camp is really random though so no telling if DFT would've continued to develop into a star if he stayed in Beijing. But I do agree that there has to be some type of follow up. But you have to be careful because we've seen certain GMs make those follow up trades and dig themselves even further into a hole. I was similar to you though, I struggled after my Twyman trade when I first joined and ended up having my worst season in this league winning 39 games (although I wasn't here for that full season) but I followed it up with trades that pushed me to 50+ wins the next year couple of years.

Yeah I mean the moves have to be the right ones. I was 18-64 to get DFT. I then went 45-37 with him and Vinko. Traded DFT and went 46-36 then 56-26, and currently 49-16. This team has also never been anything more than a 4 seed which I achieved last season. SO yes, trading for the sake of trading is dangerous or making certain moves can backfire on the team al a Kings in this deal.

Pretty sure I have never liked the settings that "Recommend" gives my key guys. I've also put the right players around him to help him succeed. Just need that next step to carry us through the playoffs. Which reminds me... London, I kept Vinko all four years of his rookie contract which no one (including myself at some points) thought would happen.
