This is the home for those of us who have been out of the hunt for a while. What does your team need to do this offseason.
I will not be happy until Scott Brooks is out of this league. I am still bitter about us losing our shot to win the West when Russell went down. Hopefully this season we see better development from Ibaka (Maybe work on some post moves) and maybe we use the youth that isn't developed yet with Lamb and PJ3.

Pelicans Fan here. Not as rash as most. Not sure what to think about EGKnees or Monty either. This year goes a long way in how I'll view both as both will be back.

Yeah forget that Playoff Thread BS.
I'm a Wolves fan, we haven't been allowed in that thread for 9 seasons. Next year will be different though.
WARNING!! PREPOSTEROUS STATEMENT COMING!! WARNING!! PREPOSTEROUS STATEMENT COMING!!
Rubio is my newest favorite Wolves of all-time.
/end statement
Yeah, that's right.
KG may still end up being the BEST Wolves player but there is something about Rubio's enthusiasm (he's like a kid out there) that is infectious. I love watching the guy play basketball. More so that I did even watching KG (and I saw 99.9% of his games as a Wolf).
Thrilled to be heading into the off-season with movable pieces. Derrick Williams, #9, #26, Luke or JJ all could be moved this year.
Concerned about PEK, AK47, and Air Bud. What worries me about PEK is that he'll cost a lot. I have no doubts he'll be back. AK on the other hand may opt out leaving us with an option of Budinger (who looked good for the most part last year pre-injury).
Still a solid squad with playoff aspirations.

A lot of excitement in Sacramento. New owners, new front office (soon), new head coach, upcoming new arena. Now we just need to make some moves. If Demarcus Cousins can keep his shit together, he can become an elite center in the league.
Also, this statement made me laugh, "Pelicans Fan here." Haha. Pelicans.

I'm still glad the Wolves didn't take him. Wes Johnson is a bust but man.. Cousins could kill your team/staff. I don't think I'd want anything to do with Evans or Cousins to be honest with you. I don't see either as team players.

I see Evans as more of one run DMC does what ever he wants they promptly traded away the best team first guy they got in Robinson for chips so im hoping they can get a solid part in the draft to maybe build around

They've made some questionable moves over there in Sac-town.

I'd be terrified if I had to say "If Cousins can keep his shit together" Well Id rather say that then bank on the likes of Dwight Howard. At least Cousins has crazy potential to be an amazing player if he can shed the attitude, instead of ruining your greatness with your attitude.

He's a guy that nobody would be comfortable having on their squad. If you get Dwight to sign a 3-5 year contract where you know you will have him he's fine. I think playing without purpose and being injured for alot of the season gave him a worse wrap then he truly should have.

The Lakers were in the playoffs even with his half ass play. His game is not nearly what it was in Orlando and its because he turned into a Sally. Yeah Cousins is a piece of shit as a person and teammate but if he gets some help with that he could be one of the best bigs in the game. Even with his shit attitude hes one of the better bigs in the league. All I know is fuck Dwight Howard lol.

I think if you put Cousins in a situation like Boston had with the 3 established stars, he's not a headcase. But here they gave him free rein to do whatever he wanted with little consequence. From the sounds of it, the new ownership won't put up with that sorta thing. Cousins is one of the most talented players in the league...his attitude would be the only thing that prevents him from being a star. He's only 22. I guess time will tell.
As for Tyreke, I don't think he fits with the team. If he focused on defense, he could be one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. He's strong, long, and and quick enough to stay in front of players. This year he improved leaps and bounds in that area. Offensively, he forces too much. Until he learns to hit the jumper consistently, his offensive game will struggle to get to the next level (i.e. Rose and Westbrook).

Yuck, having watched a little over 5 quarters of the Finals so far with the two biggest offending teams in the league, does anyone think that there is a way for the league to get a handle on flopping in the offseason? No one respects the fines...they are too small and the average NBAer makes too much money. And it isn't like the players consider being called a flopper a negative stigma anymore...many consider it a badge of playing good defense. Is there any solution other than warnings leading to suspensions?

First Flop 1 Game. Second Flop 2 Games. Third Flop 3 Games.
On and On down the line. Doesn't reset with the season. If in year 5 you're on your 10th flop. Nobody is gonna want you. NBA wants to stop it, they can do so.

See, maybe I'm in the minority but I don't have such a huge problem with flopping.
Is it overdone? Yeah, but part of it is a legit way to highlight a foul. Most people now use it for gamesmanship but I don't take issue when it's used properly.

Most people now use it for gamesmanship but I don't take issue when it's used properly. It honestly didn't bug me that much until the playoffs, and especially the Finals, where watching the Spurs and especially the Heat has really magnified the issue in my eyes. It isn't even the stars or starters either...every other play, guys like Manu, Birdman and Haslem are flopping around the floor like fish out of water. A year ago when it was just Battier drawing a bunch of ticky-tack fouls, I thought it was gamesmanship...now I think it is a bigger problem than soccer ever had.

Flopping has pissed me off since last season when Chris Paul joined the Clippers. Him, Blake and Reggie Evans took it to a whole new level. Now everybody does it. They need harsher fines and they need to start suspending people for multiple offenses. If you legitimately get fouled and embellish a bit, that's not bad. But when you don't even get touched and you act like you just got hit with a Mike Tyson right hook, then it's annoying and it hurts the game.

Like I said somewhere else, treat them like technical fouls. Have one extra official just there to watch for flopping on plays. If he feels it was stupid or out of line. T him up, he will be extra careful not to get the 2nd one and get tossed. The fines are bullcrap, just a drop in the hat for most of these guys.

With the draft coming up, who's going 1? Who's your team going to pick?
This year more than ever seems like a crapshoot. No one seems to be solidified. If Oladipo or Otto Porter fell to 7 (not likely), that would be ideal for my Kings. I hope to see some draft day action from the new GM.

By the way, regardless of what happens this offseason, Sacramento has definitely had the best. Keeping the team was a huge upset by Mayor KJ, the ownership group, and the city. I remember, Woj from Y! Sports reporting the Kings to Seattle was a "done deal", that it was "first and goal"...well didn't happen. Now we have the new owners, new GM, new coach, hopefully soon, new players.

So, what was the bigger NBA news of the night...the Nets dealing for Pierce and Garnett or Noel NOT going first, dropping to sixth and then getting dealt to Philly? I thought the whole draft night was odd with some weird selections followed by a ton of trading (MIN very active for half the league here), but does the Celtics doing a slash and burn on their team trump the night? And with the current direction of the team, do they try to send Rando packing for more picks/players, or use him as the team's new center?

Pretty crazy draft night. First with Anthony Bennett going #1...then it all went to hell. Noel at 6. ESPN showing Noel's disappointed face after each of the first 3 picks. McLemore slipping to my Kings at 7. Nets making the blockbuster acquisition. Stern egging on the boos, then getting a standing O during his final selection. One of the more entertaining drafts.

As I am a Pelicans fan as well, I am confused but also understanding of the trade. Instead of following the Thunder model, they are trying to create their own model by drafting the face of the franchise player, then using aggressive trades and free agent pickups to acquire talented young players and let them grow together.

Solomon. Hill.
I really liked what Minnesota, Utah, and N'awlins did. I liked Philly's picks (Love MCW , PIerre Jackson, and Kazemi), but I don't understand trading Jrue Holiday, their best player who's young and just broke out last season, for a scrawny big who will miss half his rookie season and has little offensive game. I guess they're rebuilding, but it's pretty pathetic since they had a solid team in place.
