London Sends: F - Bob Dandridge C - Satch Sanders
Cairo Sends F - Wes Unseld G - Mirza Delibasic
Thought?
*I'm only putting this up because I saw someone say I should in the chat while I was reading back.
-My thoughts on the trade is that it favors London however I don't think the uproar that it's receiving is really necessary. Wes is the best player in this deal but I feel like he has underperformed since entering the league. He'll be a nice 3rd big for London for the year but I really don't see why guys are throwing things like "why is this GM still here?" out there because of this trade.

Even if he's underperformed, Dandridge and Satch??? Really? Another terrible trade that goes in Londons favor. (God how many is that this season?)

Like I said, I think this trade is in London's favor, I just don't like all the "fire the guy" stuff with a Wes Unseld trade being the final straw for people.

The "Fire This Guy" talks are not just for this trade, but EVERY trade he has made. Any other GM bats .084% in his trades and they'd deserve that flack too.

Offers received for Unseld :
Celtics 2020 1st and Bobby Jones
Celtics have probably a top 3 roster and Bobby Jones doesn't solve anything for me as I already have Roundfield who is just as athletic and a better defensive presence.
Titans 2020 1st and Drew
I don't think this was a concrete offer but it's something MC threw out there. With Unseld, Titans first would just be a mid 20s pick. Drew is 2-3 years from playing any significant minutes.
KK 2020 1st for Unseld and Stith
Would've given KK a lineup of Bianci/Robinson, Sloan, Dr. J, Cliff and Unseld. And he wanted Stith added on top of that. Lmao
Tel Aviv 2020 1st and Athens 2021 1st for TVA and Unseld
With TVA playing the way he is, there was no way I would do this deal. Especially now that my scout has TVA at purple potential.
So I passed up on these offers to take SF Dandridge and a 11 mil expiring C from London, who could also keep me semi competitive this year. Dandridge was a top 10 pick just a few years ago and one of the better defenders at the SF position in the league. Even if I had dealt Unseld for one of those picks, I doubt I could've found a talent like Dandridge at the bottom of the first round. Paying Unseld was not an option. We all know he is going to get some crazy offers in FA, and now I have just as much cash to throw around.

My thoughts on this trade: Nooooooooooooo.
But really, I don't understand Cairo. I've found him to be the most difficult and stingy GM to deal with. I will make an offer, be turned down, make 3 counter-offers, still get turned down, get interest again from him a week later, make a few more counter-offers, and still get denied. Then he goes and gets ripped off in 5-6 other trades after declining like 15 of my offers? Damn. He's so afraid of losing trades that he's impossible to deal with and always says no, but then he just continues to lose more trades because he can't say no? I don't get it.
Dandridge has been a bust since he was drafted. For that matter, so have Unseld and Delibasic. But still, this makes zero sense.

You've never made an offer that I can remember. I have no idea what you're talking about. I PM'd you about Alvan Adams and you said you didn't like anything. And you didn't want anything Modestas Paulauskas. Is it really necessary for you to make stuff up to try and fit in? I'm sure KK and Boston would love to make friends with you regardless

I'm talking about our past engagements with trades, involving 3 pages of PMs that amounted to nothing. That past is why I refused to engage with you regarding Unseld. Other GMs here have much better luck trading with you.

You gave up Walter Davis, Willy Stev. and Dino for Wes... Why did you even trade for Wes? Walter Davis clearly the best piece.

Wanted to see if Wes could play PF and try not to commit too many fouls. Dude can't stay on the floor, so I cut my losses. Walter Davis is okay but there are a million SGs like him in the league. I rolled the dice and traded for a big...which are always elusive in this league.

Honestly, I see all sides of this. I see why some GMs are outraged, as the trade is the latest in a long line of deals that Cairo seemingly has lost. It stings even more for those GMs because it makes London better, who always seems to find a way to get the best of every deal.
That being said, the reaction of "run him out of town" and "fire him" is over the top. Bad deals happen all the time, and this is hardly the worst that we've seen lately. Unseld has always been overrated and now is expiring and testing FA. The offers listed above are gross, and the London offer is the best of the bunch for a team looking to compete this year (I like the offer from MC for a team looking for the most value, but I'm partial to Drew long term). In the same vein, I don't see a reason to jump and deal Unseld immediately either, as even if you think his value will drop during the season, you got an expiring Satch and an overrated Dandridge who might or might not be a step up from Mirza.
Did London win? Yes. Is this individual deal as big a deal as some are making it out to be? Not even close. But the loudest people don't seem to be talking about this deal so much as the trend...

I can understand the backlash. KK is really worried about the integrity of the league and me quitting or something. It's actually quite admirable how passionate he is about the league. It was very evident when he lost it on me for asking to change the colors of my team page, calling me a douche, etc. If he wants to set some sort've guidelines and precedents for firing GMs in this league, as if he has some sort of a large financial investment in their teams...it would be interesting to see. From experience, being in Madden leagues all my life...It's better to have positive GMs who are active and supporting, rather than GMs who spread negativity. KK's opening remark to me in the league chat was THUGPOS. I can assure Jscott and the admins that I'm here to stay and will learn from my mistakes that I've made in the first season as GM. Outside of that, I don't really see the reason to explain myself to KK who despite his firestorm of passion for the league still failed to be voted on to the committee. Can we get him a default membership for his contributions or something?

I'm not a fan of the deal, but I'm not going to complain because I wasn't going to offer more for an expiring Unseld who doesn't want to resign and to be honest, wouldn't fit the mold of my team with the addition of Vinko.

Gotta wonder how much of this outrage in chat and here would have been tempered if any team other than London had gotten Unseld...

Yeah and he had said he really liked Bobby so I wasn't going to send much more with him. Once I saw that Vinko didn't fit at center very well, I knew I couldn't deal for Unseld who is ideally a PF as well.

But honestly, outside of Boston and KK (who I don't really pay much attention to)...I've enjoyed some of my discussions about the game and the league in general with NY, London, Chicago, BA, etc...Don't worry the two clowns aren't really effecting my experience. Enhancing it, if anything.
