Then why are we rushing to finish draft? I have played numerous seasons and I am sure JScott has as well. He has to have SOME idea of how it all works and I am just curious to know. Might be preparing to hire a new coach.

Switched my vote to Yes, but I am interested in some of those questions Brazil has.

What do we think about a live draft to finish 8 and simming the rest? Im like 2 guys away from my pick and have some names but if not its cool.

How big are Round 8 contracts?
Round 7 are 2 years around 2 Mill. If I gotta have that on my roster... at least let me pick who it is.

Brazil the contract will be less then 2 mil and you really really want to pick your player huh? 2 million is not going to break the bank haha, in fact thats a contract Id cut if need be. Actually a 2 mil contract is something Id welcome to help match contracts during any sort of trade. Either way this round seems pretty important to you haha.

I want to make all my picks but that is unreasonable based on the vote. I just think it is stupid to stop mid-round. Finish the 8th then do it. If you allow a human pick in the 9th then it should be finished before CPU sim happens too!
As far as my pick, no I don't have someone I want or know who I want. LOL.

Im just giving you shit haha. I know what you mean though.. If half the GMs already picked in the 8th its only fair to have them all pick, then sim the rest. Another reason we should probably do a live round 8 and sim after that.

No need to live sim 8. Only a couple of us want to pick this round. Could be done on the board without a problem and allow him to sim the CPU part tonight or tomorrow.
I just know I'd be pissed if we waited this long and with only a couple picks before mine, it was CPU'd.

Well obviously on the board up until its time to sim. Otherwise this will stretch yet another day for no reason. And apparently.

At least finish the round we are in for people who have said no. And... you never answered these (asked for them in Skype so here): 1) No clue how to post a depth chart or upload one if that is an option like discussed. 2) What are rules on firing coach and hiring coach? When can it be done? If I am 1-16, can I fire my coach and hire your asst? 3) Team Budget. Do we plan on evening out the GM Salaries or do I need to "fire" myself then hire myself to a minimum contract? 4) How do we set who trains what coach and player wise? Post and tell you or again is it something "uploadable" by each GM? 1) You'll be told. Don't sweat it. 2) You'll be told. Don't sweat it. 3) No, GM salaries might stay what they are. This is the absolute LAST thing I am concerned about. 4) You'll be told. Don't sweat it.

Sounds Good.
1,2,4) You asked what was to be figured out and I posted those in response since the general public of the league knows not.
3) Do GM salaries factor into Team Budget?

This is what I enjoy most about John running the league...there is always the point where he just stops trying to be nice and starts being obnoxiously blunt. Taking no prisoners and suffering no fools...

Do GM salaries factor into Team Budget? Probably. But so do a lot of things - winning, your players, city size, fan base, and most importantly the money your owner will allow you to spend - that factor in to your budget. You should be more concerned with your owner than any of the others. The difference between what you make as a GM and what any other GM makes is peanuts compared to the difference in what your owner allows will matter. Again, some people have advantages in where they picked, in how generous their owner is, etc. We aren't looking for a 100% level playing field to start off. That's impossible and unrealistic. Worry about running your team, don't worry about all these little things yet. It wouldn't even matter anyway for years, you have no Free Agency and there won't be one worth a shit next year. I'm tired of writing about this mind numbing subject. Moving on...

Haha, I wouldn't have an issue if the difference between what my GM makes and another was "peanuts" but 3 Million is a good bit when it comes to hiring a coach and assistants.
