Detroit, MI - The ABCA is currently investigating three of its GMs for 'conduct detrimental to the league' after TMZ and Perez Hilton reported that the General Manager's for their respective teams went on a drug, booze and sex-filled bender over the weekend. The league, which has had a near-perfect image since its inception 15 years ago, is being questioned for the first time.
With the floundering teams signaling a potential hot seat for all three GMs, especially Toronto who has failed to compete despite selling all long-term potential pieces in an attempt to compete this year, the guys went on a 'boys only' cruise - without their wives anywhere in sight - to let loose some steam.
Witnesses said that everyone in the group was doing blow and shooting up an unknown substance before passing out. Pornstars Lisa Ann, Tucci Flower, Priya Rai, Kelly Divine, Tori Black, Riley Steele, Kayden Kross, Asa Akira, Sunny Leone, Faye Reagan, Stoya, Skin Diamond, Kennedy Leigh and Alexis Texas were said to be present. Male pornstar Mr. Marcus also appeared briefly but disappeared a short while later and was last seen entering a bathroom together with the Chicago GM.
The Michigan Herald has obtained photos (bottom) of the three enjoying themselves with other notorious party fiends: Scott Disick, Charlie Sheen, and Paris Hilton.
While the league does not pry into the private lives of its employees, it does hold them to a higher standard when the league's public image is in question. Commissioner John Scott delivered a brief statement on quick notice:
"We were surprised and disappointed by the news this week regarding members of our league and their behavior in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. While our knowledge about the circumstances is still not complete, we're going to follow the process we use in every decision we make to ensure that the league's image, the image of our sponsors, and most importantly our teams is in no way, shape or form damaged or questioned while we investigate the situation. There is an established process in place and the committee will continue its work unaltered by these actions. Consistent with the ongoing evaluation of the people in question, the committee will meet with me once again this Monday. As I have said before, the object in this very complicated situation is not to get it done as fast as possible, but to get it done right."
While Detroit and Toronto GMs were unavailable for comment, they left behind a joint statement:
"We wish to deeply express our regret for the situation we've placed our teams and most importantly, our families, in. While we do feel pressure from our work, there is no excuse to do what we've done. We deeply regret the actions and plan to learn from them moving forward. With treatment on our end, we hope to put this situation behind us and focus on improving our teams, earning back the respect and trust we've lost, and providing an example of how mistakes can turn into positive life lessons."
Chicago GM, under a separate investigation for soliciting a prostitute (Mr. Marcus in captions) - and paying $100, 000 for services - deferred to his lawyer Saul Goodman for a statement:
"Seer is innocent of the charges filed against him today. He stands falsely accused, falsely accused of an extremely serious crime. A crime that carries with it the potential of a prison sentence and life-altering repurcussions. No prosecutor should file charges unless the evidence is so strong the case can be proved beyond a reasonable doubt. The evidence in this case falls far, far short of that standard. The accusations in this case cannot be proven because they are false. Seer did not pay for sex with Mr. Marcus. Seer will plead not guilty and will request that this case be trialed by the Chicago duty. His defense - what happened in Cabo San Lucas was a sexual encounter between two consenting adults. He had no reason reason to believe otherwise. The physical evidence in this case totally supports his belief. His actions since these actions were made have been those of an innocent man. He's cooperated fully with every demand and every request made by the Sherrif's office and District Attorney's office. We do not intend to discuss the facts and evidence of this case. We do not intend to try this case in the press. We are confident that a fair and impartial jury will find that Seer is innocent."
