Name: Brandon Dawayne Roy AKA B-Roy Position: SG Number: 17 DOB: July 23, 1984 Age when drafted: 2006 NBA Draft (21) College: University of Washington Hometown: Seattle, Washington Height: 6'6" Weight: 215 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STRENGTHS: Brandon Roy was the 6th overall pick in the 06 draft and made an impact right away in his first season by winning rookie of the year. He was a jack all trades forward that could do many things very well. An excellent scorer, in his best year he averaged 22.6 PPG on 48% shooting. He combined great athleticism with a good BBIQ and was able to score in many different ways by either using his jumping ability to dunk over opponents or use a sweet jumper and he could even hit consistently from beyond the arc. Also a decent rebounder from the guard position averaging 4.4 RPG 4 years in a row. He was a good passer as well averaging nearly 5 APG for his career and he took care of the ball with a low turnover average. Also a good FT shooter at 80% for his career. WEAKNESSES: Not many things that Brandon could not do well aside from staying healthy. He only lasted 4 years before his knees gave out and attempts to make a comeback were unfortunately unsuccessful. SIGNIFICANT INFO: 3x NBA All Star, 2006 Rookie of The Year --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1-5 rate the following for each category (half points can be given Ins: 4.0 Jps: 4.0 Fts: 4.0 3Ps: 3.5 Hnd: 4.0 Pas: 3.0 ORb: 1.5 DRb: 2.5 PsD: 2.0 PrD: 3.5 Stl: 3.0 Blk: 1.0 Qck: 4.0 Str: 3.0 Jmp: 4.0 St: 4.0

Name: Brandon Roy Position: SG Number: 7 DOB: July 23, 1984 Age when drafted: 21 (6th overall) College: Washington Hometown: Seattle, Washington Height: 6’6” Weight: 211lbs STRENGTHS: Roy could have possibly been the top player in NBA today had it not been for career ending knee problems. Kobe Bryant, an avid student of the game, was once asked who the toughest opponent to guard was. His answer: “Roy 365 days, seven days a week. Roy has no weaknesses in his game”. Furthermore, Ron Artest, known to be one of the best defenders of his era, was asked a similar question and responded with the same answer, choosing Roy over guys like LeBron and Kobe: Roy had a combination of a lethal shot and the ability to get to the rim and dunk on anyone, making it impossible for the defender to know whether to defend the shot or the drive. Roy posted solid assist and rebound numbers (career 4.3 rbg, 4.7 apg) and low turnover numbers considering the number of touches he got (career 1.9 topg). Also had a solid 3 point shot. During his short prime, played nearly 40 minutes a game. WEAKNESSES: Roy’s only weakness could be his defence. Like most young offensive-minded players, defence came second on his list of priorities. It would have been interesting to see if Roy improved his defence as he matured, but we never got to see. SIGNIFICANT INFO: - Career Average: 19.1ppg, 4.3 rbp, 4.7 apg, 1.0 spg, 0.2 bpg - Best Season: 21.9 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 5.0 apg, 1.1 spg, 0.3 bpg - Played 4 and a half seasons with Portland, before taking a year off due to injuries, only to play 5 more games with Minnesota and retire at the age of 28 - Rookie of the Year, 3 time All-Star Attribute – Current/Potential Inside – 3.5/5.0 Jumper – 3.0/4.5 Free Throws – 4.0/4.0 3-Pointer – 3.5/3.5 Handling – 3.5/4.5 Passing – 2.0/3.5 Off.
