So I usually write these long winded post in the General Board recapping my sim that no one reads. So I figured why not write a longer winded post that no one will read so I can earn some Participation Points for it. In this article I will look at the performance of my top 6 players from this sim. This was a shorter sim since it was the All-Star sim but 6 games is still enough to look at averages. So let's look at the numbers for the top 6 this sim.
Zoran Slavnic
Otis Birdsong
Adrian Dantley
Elvin Hayes
Tyrone Hill
Allen Leavell
Zoran Slavnic
Last Sim he put up 25.4 PPG | 15.4 APG | 5.4 RPG | 3.0 SPG so this sims numbers are a bit of a step down but still his numbers impressed me. If I expected him to put up those type of numbers every sim I would be kidding myself but he continues to put himself in the argument as one of the top guards (both SG and PGs) in the league. If I use the top SGs and PGs in the league as the measuring stick for Zoran, I think he is right there with just about every one of them with Stockton probably having a slight edge. I think this is the best he's ever been as a distributor when factoring in both assist and turnovers so hopefully he can keep this up heading into the last 3 sims. As for the sim itself, he really got hot post all-star break with three really big performances where he averaged 27.3 PPG | 14.7 APG | 4.3 RPG | 3.3 SPG so that was nice to see. Overall he played strong through the 6 game stretch but those final 3 where definitely his best. Speaking of All-Star break, he received his 4th All-Star appearance this sim and was the starter at Point Guard next to his teammates Otis Birdsong and Adrian Dantley who were also starters and Elvin Hayes who was a reserve. Another interesting thing coming out of the All-Star break is he didn't participate in the 3-Point Contest despite winning it last year. All in all, this was a good sim for Zoran and like I said I hope he can keep this level of play going through the last 3 sims of the season and into the playoffs.

Otis Birdsong
Like I said in the last Sim Thread, he was quietly having an all-star season despite not getting much love from the league. He ended up starting at SG for the American Conference (his 5th All-Star appearance) which is cool since last time he got the starting vote he ended up getting injured and didn't get a chance to play except for 1 minute in the game. He also competed in the 3-point shootout like he did last season but finished lower this time. Last time he finished second behind Zoran Slavnic but this time he finished 4th behind Ivan Bisson, Arpad Losonczy and the guy i'll talk about next. As for the regular games he had his ups and downs which is why his scoring was down a bit. He had rough games against Harlem (2nd game) and Los Angeles but scored 21 or more in every other game. Can't really complain about basically 21 PPG | 9 APG | 3 RPG | 1 SPG but would prefer to see the 25 PPG | 9 APG | 4 RPG | 2 SPG that he put up outside of those two rough games. I continue to be glad that I decided to stick with Birdsong when he was a Free Agent a little while back. I could've flipped him but instead moved Gilmore and we've seen Birdsong continue to be a big part of the team. I think for us to win a title we will have to see him play well and hopefully this sim and the past few show that he will.

Adrian Dantley
He continues to be in my opinion the best Small Forward in the league this year with the numbers he has put up. Probably won't make the All-League First team (Kemp and Barkley get the forward spots i'm guessing) but he has been playing a really strong all around game this season. After averaging at most 4.7 APG in a season for his career he has averaged 5.1 this year with 32 of his 52 games seeing him rack up at least 5 assist. His rebounding is down some this season compared to his first two seasons with me but 6.8 is still impressive and he still has those stretches where he can pull down 8-9 a game. He actually got POTW this sim after averaging 34.3 PTS | 7.0 RPG | 4.3 APG | 3.7 SPG in his games against the Titans, Buenos Aires, and Harlem pre-all star break. During All-Star weekend he ended up winning the 3-point shooting contest (2nd Knick in a row) over Arpad Losonczy, Ivan Bisson, Otis Birdsong, Byron Scott and Mark Price. He also started in the All-Star game alongside Otis Birdsong and Zoran Slavnic so that's cool. It was his 5th one but it was nice to see him start after getting pushed to the bench by Dominique Wilkins last season and only starting in the past when he was in Eurasia. Overall putting up 29.8 PPG | 8.8 RPG | 5.7 APG | 2.8 SPG is good enough for me and if he can put up similar numbers moving forward I feel pretty good heading into the playoffs. Also was nice to see him have a strong game against the Lakers

Elvin Hayes
Hayes was the guy that I was iffy about making it to the All-Star game but he made it as a backup appearing in his 11th All-Star game which apparently is the record for All-Star appearances. Outside of the All-Star game I can't really say this was a great sim for Hayes. He struggled to score some as the only one of my big 4 not to hit 20 PPG. But outside of that I can't really complain since his assist, steals, rebounds and blocks were all above his season averages. As long as he does those thing then I can deal with a poor scoring stretch for him since he's probably my 4th option on offense this year. The duo of Hayes and Hill have continued to help my team on the boards. For comparison sake last year I was ranked 12th in offensive rebound%, 14th in defensive rebound%, and 11th in overall rebound%. The year before that we were 24th in offensive rebound%, 20th in defensive rebound%, and 17th in overall rebounding%. This year we are #4 in offensive rebound%, #8 in defensive rebound%, 8th in overall rebound%. I'd definitely be happy with that improvement and hope that Hayes focuses on rebounding like he did this sim so we can move even higher in the only efficiency stat that we aren't in the top 5 of this season.

Tyrone Hill
- The weak link in my front court has always been the front court spot next to either Hayes or Gilmore and it probably still is since I don't have some super max guy here or anything but Tyrone Hill continues to be serviceable. Bobby Jones really helped my team the past two seasons but Tyrone Hill putting up 12 RPG has helped fix my team's biggest weakness. Per 36 he is pulling down 11 RPG and his rebound rate is top 6 right now. His defensive rebounding is solid but he shines on the offensive boards. #1 in Offensive Rebound Rate so far this season passing Charles Barkley over this past sim. Speaking of this sim, Hill had a better scoring sim than i'm used to. In between two 6 point games, he put up 22 PTS, 10 PTS, 12 PTS, and 14 PTS. I probably consider him my 6th option on offense behind the starters, Leavell, and Bobby Jones so when he gives me 11-12 PPG that's a big boost for us. Also was nice to see him pick up 1.3 SPG and 0.8 BPG this sim. He's never going to be a big time shot blocker or stealer but getting the occasional block/steal makes him more valuable on the defensive end. I still remember when I traded for Hill, San Francisco wasn't a big fan of the move giving me a C for the deal. The pick that I traded for him is currently #32 and Hill has helped me have what to this point has been my best season to date with his strong rebounding so I think I won out in the end here.

Allen Leavell
- Not much to say here but Leavell continues to have a solid season, his numbers may not be super impressive but he gets the job done efficiently. He shot 53.5% from the field and 46.7% from long range. He can fill in big minutes when necessary if Zoran or Birdsong get in foul trouble (like Zoran did against Seattle). He gives the team a little rebounder, passing and scoring from the PG position and has helped fill in for Terry Furlow these past few seasons.
