It's going to be fun watching the annual playoff battle in the American over the next couple of weeks and I intended to write a long article on which teams had an inside track, and why. Alas I didn't have time to finish it before today's sim. So here's the data anyway for those of you who find numbers like this interesting. No pp necessary: Home Team Advantage: who gets it the rest of the way? 1. Raptors - 21 of final 37 games at home (57%) 2. Titans - 19 of final 34 at home 3. Sonics - 19 of final 35 at home 4. Knicks - 19 of final 36 at home 5. Globetrotters - 18 of final 35 at home 6. Lakers and Bullets - half of remaining games are at home 8. Spurs, Pistons, and Warriors - 15 of final 34 at home 11. Pacers - 14 of final 34 at home 12. Franca BC - 13 of final 36 at home (36%) Strength of Remaining Schedule: From easiest to hardest 1. Titans - remaining opp have a .481 winning pct 2. Bullets - .488 3. Lakers - .491 4. Raptors - .497 5. Pacers - .500 6. Pistons - .512 7. Spurs - .515 8. Globetrotters - .519 9. Warriors - .534 10. Sonics - .536 11. Franca BC - .539 12. Knicks - .551 Tough Games* Remaining: 1 | Pistons, Raptors, Titans | 8 | 4 | Bullets, Lakers, Pacers | 10 | 7 | Spurs | 11 | 8 | Globetrotters | 12 | 9 | Sonics, Warriors, Franca BC | 14 | 12 | Knicks | 16 |
* These are games against Knicks, Towers, Spurs, Kings, Beermen, Lakers, Warriors, BCZ, Sonics, and Franca BC... teams who currently have 30 or more wins.

Nice work on this Harlem. Definitely a good race we got going in the American conference. Surprised at how well some teams have done this year. There is still some teams that could make a jump with more then 30 games to go so lets see what happens. I wish we had some number crunchers in the Eurasian conference.

Good stuff man. For S.O.S how deep did you go in determining how strong an opponent is? Was it just their win percentage or did you look at other factors as well?

I only looked at opponent winning percentage, so this was a simplistic look at sos. It does at least aggregate the W-L so it's useful to a degree. Really wanted to factor in H/A but maybe next time .
