AC Green Upset About Recent Article

Phnom Penh (AP)- A recent article entitled "Top 10 Worst FA Signings of All-Time" has drawn the ire of ABCA veteran AC Green. The article, submitted by an unnamed AP journalist, sought to highlight some of the worst free agent acquisitions in league history. Green has turned to Twitter and Facebook to voice his disdain at his exclusion from the list. "ToP tEn My A$s", stated Green's Twitter account on Friday.
Green's contempt for the article clearly stems from his 4 year $48 million dollar contract signed in 2025. The contract appeared to be a good signing in the early stages as Green produced good numbers in 2024 and 2025. In 2026 however, Green was a shell of his former self. The drop off was apparent not only in appearance, but in his playing time as well. Green, who had been a 25 to 30 minute a game player in 2025 and 2026 was limited to 10.4 minutes per game this season and only appeared in 36 of the 82 regular season games.
Clearly Green has a point that the desperate offer to keep Green was not only short-sighted, but has hurt the team's ability to sign marquee free agents to couple with its strong backcourt. The bigger question is why would Green attempt to draw attention at his inability to perform? That answer lies in the business interests that Green has developed in Cambodia over the last two years.
While vacationing in the Cambodian island of Koh Rong in 2025 Green became entranced in the island's culture and development. During the course of his vacation, Green developed an agreement with a Russian developer to purchase one of the previously restricted sections of the island for commercial development. Green's recent Twitter outburst has increased his Twitter and Facebook traffic over the past few days and provided him with free publicity for his new development.
When reached in Phnom Penh for comment Green lazily replied, "The list was (expletive), I just wanted people to see me living the American Dream." When asked why he has been spending most of his offseason in Cambodia, Green simply laughed and mentioned the opportunity to explore the herbal remedies of a rich culture and to spend time mentally preparing for the upcoming season.
It remains to be seen if Green will ever regain his past form, or at least become a role player for the duration of his hefty contract. His colorful personality and questionable behavior however, suggest that he may have more chance of getting placed on the ABCA's substance abuse list as he does getting on the court. Regardless, Green's outburst has drawn attention to the changing culture among the leagues new arrivals. With social media savvy players such as LeBron James and international sensation Yao Ming, could the league see an upswing in negative self promotion? The ABCA Commissioners Office did not wish to comment on the matter.
