Pros: First and foremost, Bill Bridges is a force on the defensive end. In college he was a great on ball post defender, and was even used at center at times as a defensive assignment. A relatively strong player, Bridges uses this well on the defensive end, and we should see this soon carry over to the boards. Currently equally able to pull down boards on both ends of the courts, don't be surprised to see him improve in both these categories after a training camp or two. Scouts are high on his potential to grow offensively as well as in the shot blocking department. Cons: A bit undersized, weighing in at a measly 229 lbs. Underdeveloped offensively, not a great scorer, and a bit of a liability turn over wise. You don't want to keep the ball in Bridges hands for extended periods of time as he can be prone to making poor passing decisions. Still needs time to develop, however at 23 he's already a good deal older than a number of the leagues younger prospects. On the slower side when it comes to lateral quickness and sprint speed. Overall: Bridges is potentially as good of a selection as a number of the lottery bound players, but his development is far from a sure thing. At the very least you will be getting a solid defensive player down low, at the best you are getting a more than capable starter who is a fierce shot blocker, lock down defender, and solid inside scorer. Projection: 13-18
