Name: Dirk Nowitzki Position: PF/C Number: 41 DOB: June 19, 1978 Drafted: 1st Round (9th Pick) Age when drafted: 20 College: High School (Germany) Hometown: Wurzburg, Germany Height: 7’0” Weight: 237 lbs  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STRENGTHS: One of the most unique and prolific scorers of all time Nowitizki comes in as an amazing shooter with range out to the 3pt line (career.381). He also has a diverse post up game and while he is not going to overpower guy on the block he is skilled. He is deceptively quick, esp. with his first step and handles the ball like a wing. He excels in the pick and roll, but prefers to pop or use a dribble hand off to create space for long jumpers. He is a sneaky shot blocker and ball thief (0.9/game). Dirk gets to the line often and converts (.879). He has great length which he uses to be an average defender. Very durable has played 75+ games in 12 of 16 seasons. Good passer for a big man (2.6 apg) who takes care of the ball (1.8 turnovers) WEAKNESSES: Not quick enough to be a SF despite having the skills of one. Thin frame means despite having solid strength he will never overpower anybody. Is only a solid rebounder (career avg 8 rpg) and is not a factor on the offensive glass for his size. Not a leaper at all. Although not a poor defender he will never make an all defense team.
