Name: Jim Jackson
Position: SF/SG
Number: 24
DOB: October 14, 1970
Age when drafted: 21(1st round 4th overall)
College: The Ohio State University
Hometown: Toldeo, Ohio
Height: 6'6"
Weight: 220
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRENGTHS:
Extremely strong wing who can post up, get into the lane and has a nice midrange game as illustrated by his career .825 FT %. Well rounded wing (career 4.7 reboungs and 3.2 assists) who at his height was a 20 ppg scorer before turning into more of a third option 15ppg type guy. Best season was his 3rd year where he put up 25.7ppg 5.3rpg, 4.1assists and 1.1 steals. Can knock down the wide open 3 (career .365) but is not a high volume shooter from downtown.
WEAKNESSES:
Although strong and a leaper he is not exceptionally quick for a wing and does not generate a lot of steals. Only an average defense player on the perimeter, but he can bully guards on the blocks. Not an efficient scorer (career FG% = .428) in large part due to his love of going 1 on 1 and settling for jumpers. Has a tendency to turn the ball over including leading the league with 334 in 1993-94. Struggles mightily with injuries missing significant time in his career.
SIGNIFICANT INFO:
1989 McDonald’s All American
1990-91 AP All American 2nd Team
1991-92 Ap All American 1st Team
