STRENGTHS:
Amazing athlete that was a strong inside force. He had a very high FG percentage as a result of him rarely taking a shot outside of 10 feet. He was know to throw down violent tomahawk dunks. He valued rebounding the ball more than scoring and lead the NCAA in both scoring and rebounding in the 1988-1989 season, as he averaged 32.7 Points and 13.7 rebounds. He was the second player to do so in the NCAA. Loyola played at a super fast pace and Gathers was able to run all day. Tough minded and physical defender who could battle in the paint and stop other teams wing players as well.
WEAKNESSES:
Only attempted 2 college three pointers and missed them both. Struggled so badly at shooting Free Throws that he even tried to shot them left handed some times, naturally he was a righty. A little sloppy as a ball handler.
