---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRENGTHS:
Dice was a guy that was drafted with high hopes and for the first 6 seasons of his career was living up to those lofty expectations. Unfortunately, injuries caught up with him and he was never the same again. He did still play 15 seasons in the NBA.
For his time before the injuries, McDyess was a great post scorer and a terrific offensive and defensive rebounder, typically being a 20-10 guy. He even had a nice little jumper to complete his repertoire which he perfected later on in his career. At 6'9", 220 pounds he wasn't the biggest or strongest power forward but used his quickness and explosiveness to get to the rim. Was also a good shot blocker pre-injury at about 1.8 BPG over his first 6 seasons. Basically the Dice we all know from recent memory was not even close to the showcase of his athletic ability he had pre-injury. Think Amare type jumping and dunking ability.
WEAKNESSES:
Not the greatest freethrow shooter in the world shooting 67% over his career. Ability to stay healthy ruined a great career in the making.
SIGNIFICANT INFO:
1x NBA all star, 95-95 NBA all rookie, 98-99 All NBA team (3).
