ugh CSKA finally had all his first back after his early trades. I thought things were looking up.
That is all i'll say since I try to avoid bashing trades

So why is this a bad deal? Becuase I sent my 1st? Thought it was a fair deal. Not a deal where I lost.

If your team was good then this may not be a bad deal. But the rest of your team is garbage with no real way of improving. So your 2026 1st projects very highly.

West is still talented he is also really overpaid on a bad contract for his age (pretty much panned by everybody as a signing) and he will be 35 when that contract ends. IF he holds up for 2 seasons he is a nice addition but the problem is that pick is 3 seasons from now. Just seems like a big gamble when you have a lot of needs on your roster. I truly hope it works out for you but if I was in your spot I would never be moving my picks until the record improves quite a bit

So why is this a bad deal? Becuase I sent my 1st? Thought it was a fair deal. Not a deal where I lost. West is old, expensive, and you have nothing to put with him. You should have waited it out and started rebuilding with your picks. Now you need to wait another 3 seasons before you can get going in the right direction.

I know I said I wouldn't add anything else but I don't think it's just Jerry's age or contract. It's not like he put up all-star numbers last season so there is no way i'm trading a potential lotto pick for him. He put up:
15 - 7 on 42% shooting, I think you can find that for cheaper than a potential lotto pick.
CSKA has given up his past three draft picks if I'm not mistaken. Those picks have turned into:
Beerman (via CSKA) - Shawn Kemp Pacers (via CSKA) - Benji Wilson Titans (via CSKA) - James Worthy
I think at some point you should say, maybe I should hold onto my picks. In certain situations moving your picks is fine. For example, I very rarely hold onto my picks but that's because I feel I can net more via trade with my pick than I could in the draft. I just think if you have given up 3 players with all star potential in teh past 3 drafts, you should slow down on moving your picks.

Outside of the Titans one each of those picks were traded for a better player than he got though. Not saying he would've been able to pull off the same trades but: for the Shawn Kemp one he got Lou hudson, Ira harge, 2022 bulls 1st, 2024 Bulls 1st, 2024 Buls 2nd while also trading Billy Cunningham. That pick was traded a few times around the draft. Once for Dennis Rodman + Reggie Miller, and once for David Robinson (obviously there was more involved). He traded the Benji pick for Larry Nance. Benji would get traded twice, once for Oscar Robertson and once for Elvin Hayes. Despite how anyone feels about those actual trades, I think it's safe to say they are more valuable than Nance.

Ugh this trade blows. Just when you think CSKA can't get much worse this happens. West is very quickly dropping off the last year or so and he's never been a huge production guy. He needs pieces around him and he does not have that here. Puke

As soon as I saw A Cska trade and a trade comment trade, I knew something was up.
Why is this bad Cska, you ask? Because u traded a 1st in 2026 and West instantly becomes your best player at the age of 30. Or 31? The fact that West is your best player while declining, should concern you. There is an obvious lack of plan. If u had 4 viable starters and missing a PG, then yeah, this would be a good trade for you. Trading your first to have approximately 5-8 wins more ( if so ) in the nesxt two seasons and handing out another lotto to another team? Yeah it s bad

I almost sent an offer to CSKA for this pick, and then I said to myself, "No, there is no way they guy who finished withe the 4th worst record and got worse over the offseason trades another pick".
Oops.
