Berlin destroys this trade There was a time you liked older players and disagreed with the youth-centric focus of most teams.. Benji is good now, he could also bust or stall... His production was wildly inflated as well. I still like this deal for ALBA, and the 1st was totally unnecessary and I'm positive the deal would've been done without it, however I don't think KK got destroyed. We won't know that until we see at least a few more seasons from Benji.

I do agree with you that my style has shifted from older to young, and maybe that's not right, given I haven't won a title since, but I still don't think this move will come close to working out for KK.

Looks like KK has to trade himself back the pieces he loaned to Philly last off-season.

I don't care about Benji Wilson, honestly. Until my scout sees him as more than LITERALLY GREEN in his current talent, I put little stock into his purple potential.
That being said, it was a deal that probably needed to be made. The pick won't be much, as I doubt NY falls apart with his current roster, so it's like "Oscar's Giant Contract" for "Two players with mid-first talent". Even.

Benji has about as much talent and potential as Kemp did who got taken at 4. Benj went 6. he might not pan out, but he's better than mid-first talent, and if Plossl had traded oscar for #4 + Knicks 1st, people would be praising him even more than they are

Also, Ralph Sampson for example has better quickness than Benji. Benji's potential scoring ratings look great. Looking into the rest of his ratings, athleticism and potential though, I'm not blown away. Regardless, as I mentioned earlier I still see it as a win for Berlin. Just not nearly as lopsided as some.

Ralph Sampson is the exception, not the rule. Less than 5 big men in the league have B range quickness. I agree Benji isn't a sure thing or a franchise guy. I guess I'm just down on Oscars value at this point...mostly because KK still needs to build a whole team

Maybe even much lower than average for a "star" Sg/Sf? And yes I agree, this deal will only approach fair/even territory if Kk can quickly surround Oscar with talent.

Benji is by no means a sure thing...but his quickness isn't a concern. Of three scouts I checked, two including my own put him at B+ and one has him at A-. League scout is a silly goose...
