Name: Derrick McKey
Position: Small Forward
Number: 31
DOB: October 10, 1966
Drafted: 1st Round (9th Pick)
Age when drafted: 20

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRENGTHS: Lengthy SF who can is a very good defender at both Forward spots. Decent but not exceptional passer for a wing and at times struggles with turnovers. Very good mid range game, highlighted by .779 career FT% and shot .486 from the floor for his career. Can post up smaller players. Quick hands led to him averaging 1.1 steals per game for career. Pretty solid in most aspects of the game.
WEAKNESSES: Never put all his skills together/his best 5 years were his first 5 years in the league. Not aggressive offensively, never took more than 11.9 FGA’s per game in a season. Nice jumper but range taps out at about 18 feet (Career .316 from 3pt). Foul prone with 6 seasons averaging more than 3 fouls per game. Despite length, tends to get overpowered and lacks bulk. Average rebounder for size, although puts up solid numbers for a SF. Does not get to the line much never averaged over 4 FTA/game after his 5th season (3.1 for career). Durability issues, missed a lot of games in his career and did not play in more than 66 games the last half of his career (age 30 on)
SIGNIFICANT INFO: Nicknamed Heavy D, All Rookie First Team 1987-88, 2 time All NBA Defensive 2nd Team. Played 15 seasons in NBA.
