Name: Terry Porter
Position:PG
Number: 30
DOB: 4/8/1963
Age when drafted: 22
College: University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point
Hometown: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 195
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRENGTHS:
Durable played 17 NBA seasons and 1274 Regular Season Games, tough man to man defender (learned from Dick Bennett in College) with quick hands and feet that allow for a decent amount of steals (1.2spg in 27mpg). Solid PG (career 5.6apg, avg 7.0 as a starter in Portland) with good handles (5.6/2.1 a/to ratio for career). Good but not elite shooter, with 3pt Range .386 from downtown for career with total shooting line being .463/.386/.836, plays hard and can play either guard spot. Is sneaky strong and quick although not elite in either category.
WEAKNESSES:
Not a great rebounder despite good size for a lead guard, early in his career he turned it over a bit more than ideal before tightening up. Primarily a perimter and transition player, he does not draw a lot of fouls or get to the line a lot (3.2 FTA for career). Not a great leaper, is not going to finish over anybody above the rim.
SIGNIFICANT INFO: #156 All Time on Basketball Reference's Top Players List, 2 Time NBA All Star, 13th all time in NBA in Assists, 32nd in threes made, 31st in Steals, recipient of the J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award in 1993
