Name: Danny Manning
Position: PF
Number: 15
DOB: 5/17/1966
Age when drafted: 22
(1st overall pick)
College: Kansas
Hometown: Hattiesburg, MI
Height: 6'10"
Weight: 230
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRENGTHS:
Versatile and athletic forward who is a stretch 4 who can shoot it out to 18 feet, drive the ball and score on the block with a variety of mostly finesse moves. Unselfish player. Quick hands lead to a lot of steals and some blocks. Can play the 3-5 spots but best suited as a PF in an uptempo system as he likes to get out and run. Solid offensive rebounder. Teamates really enjoy playing with him, he seems to have good intangibles and is like a coach on the floor.
WEAKNESSES:
No durability issues before NBA but in career suffered a series of knee injuries which limited his career, only an average defensive rebounder for his position. Could use some work in the weight room. Tends to turn it over trying to do too much at times, but is a good passer for his size.
SIGNIFICANT INFO: Dad is a known college coach, suffered torn ACL rookie year for Clippers, 2 time NBA All Star, 1997-98 Sixth Man of the Year, #175 in Basketball Reference top players list. Wooden and Naismith Award winner senior year in college, Final Four Most Outstanding player and title winner as Senior. Two Time All American in College.
