This is one of those trades that we will have to see play out a bit before a final judgement is made. But first thought is that I like it for both teams.
Why for London: He gets a player that was well on his way to being ROTY (unsure if thats still the case with the talent on London) in Oscar Schmidt. He gets a more natural SF than Bob Pettit that can space the floor and has the potential to some day defend. Guy Rodgers has regressed but he'll be solid in a backup role before being exposed. He also got the current 16th/20th pick in the draft, which could net a solid role player (remember I like late round picks). He gave up a pick that is currently 4th Pre Expansion and Lotto but there are a few things to consider with this pick. BA just added Jiri Zednicek so if he figures stuff out he could at least pass REAL to move to the 5th spot. If this pick doesn't move up past CSKA for the 3rd spot then it is 8th-9th without a lotto jump. So I figure it makes sense getting a young duo of players while also adding a decent pick for a guy that was definitely getting exposed and for a pick that has a few question marks around it.
Why for Tehran: I do wish that Tehran would've kept Doug Collins but i'm unsure how much he was needed to get the job done. However the same way I talked about BA possibly moving down to number 5/9 if he puts it together, things could continue to go bad for BA and they could jump CSKA for the 3rd pick. CSKA only has a 2 game lead on that spot right now (Philly is 4 games ahead for the 2nd spot) so it's not impossible that Mahram could potentially walk out with two top 3 picks. Schmidt's was probably never going to be a #1 guy but if things fall right for Mahram he could have something like Dominique Wilkins and Isiah Thomas or something.
Again I think this one will be easier to judge in the off-season but I don't mind it for either team right now.

I like it for me.
Oscar is great long term depth and Collins fills a hole for a couple seasons. Plus the pick isn't a huge drop if it doesn't win lotto. Of course I'm banking on that.

Why post a poll if your not gonna give your thoughts? I wanted to post the poll and then take my time writing up my thoughts. Didn't realize it was an issue.

This draft makes this trade more confusing. I could end up with 2 top 3 picks or at the other end of the spectrum 8 and 9.

I think the Beijing pick and Collins put London way over the top. Yeah my pick might end up as a top three pick, but with the 4 expansion teams it could very easily end up 8th or 9th. To add another lotto 1st and a decent guy in Collins in a trade that pretty risky itself, I dont really get. Thats the added value London gets almost every freaking time.

The Aoshen one? Right now its pick #20 after expansion.

This would of been a better move to make after the lotto for Tehran I think. Oscar Schmidt would probably be a top 4/5 pick in this class and although there's a chance the pick could be top 3 there's a decent chance its around 7/8. Is there a player that is that much better than Schmidt to take that chance when you have a high lotto pick yourself anyway? Added the fact your moving Collins (who looks pretty decent) and Aoshen pick which if the pick is around 8 won't be that much of a drop off in talent. So yea I like it for London but IF Tehran ends up with two top 3 picks then he will be happy enough.

Yeah, if I am looking at Nique, Zeke, Bias, or Sampson then I don't deal for Oscar.

Yeah sorry, lotto was my mistake, but the opinion is still the same.

With so many uncertainties in this draft, yes Id have dealt for Oscar, Collins and another pick.

That's why you buy from teams who don't want their talent anymore

According to the draft preview page, you don't have my pick. May wanna fix that lol.
London wins by a LOT now since Tehran sent Oscar/Collins/#20 for #8 (pre-lotto/expansion, so really #12 pre-lotto).

I made a massive miscalculation on this trade sometimes that happens.
