Mychal ThompsonC | 6'10 | 226 lbs | 23 years old
abcalegends.com/players/player110.htmPros: Mychal Thompson is ready now and scouts like his ability to make an effective contribution to any team right away. He comes into the league already with a number of moves in the post that makes him an effective scorer in the paint. He is also a great offensive rebounder and has a knack for knowing where the ball is going to land on a miss; his strength helps him get good position to score and rebound. He is also one of the better shot blockers in the draft. He has also showed signs of developing his offensive game with a mid range jumpshot and improving his post defense. Cons: At 23 years of age he is a little older that some of the other rookies entering the league and that could put some teams off. Although some areas of his game are already developed he currently isn't a very good post defender and will need to be developed to reach his potential there. Although he shows signs of a good jumpshot he struggles a bit on the free throw line. Overall: Thompson is one of the most ready prospects in the entire draft, he is already a good scorer, rebounder and shot blocker and should help any team that drafts him right away. At 23 years of age he is one of the oldest players in the draft and his potential to improve could be limited in certain areas. Projection: 10-17

Name: Mychal Thompson Position: C Height: 6'10" Weight: 226 lbs DOB: 1/30/1997 www.abcalegends.com/players/player110.htmPros: Mychal Thompson steps into the draft as the #2 center prospect after the late entry by Sabonis pushed him down the board. Thompson comes into the draft as a more polished option, with a good inside game, decent rebounding abilities and a shot blocking ability that is more than passable. In the long term, Mychal projects to improve his overall scoring and round out his defense to make him a more than capable starter in this league. Cons: Thompson is one of the most polished draftees in this year's class, but his defense is the one part of his game that is lagging behind. While it will eventually catch up to the rest of his abilities, Thompson will never be an elite defender, something that holds him back from being in the top 5 picks in this draft. Overall: Mychal Thompson is the third best post option in the draft after Sabonis and McHale are off the board and should be an early contributer as a rookie. While he doesn't have the ceiling that those two players do, he should be a starter at either PF or C for several seasons to come and, unlike some, doesn't have to sit the bench before starting. Not a bad prize for someone who doesn't land one of the first few picks in the draft. Projection: #7-10
