Name:Jeffrey Alan Ruland Position: C, PF Number: 43 DOB: 12/16/1958 College: Iona Hometown: Bayshore, New York Height: 6'10" Weight: 240 lbs. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STRENGTHS: Jeff Ruland was an extremely versatile big man, who was one of the first to show confidence and touch on his mid-range jumper. Although his peak was short, he may have had one of the most dominant 4 year stretches of any player in this draft class averaging 20/11+. He was an extremely affective passer for a big man, even topping 5 assister per game one season. He could rebound both sides of the ball and even lead the league in minutes per game one season. He was nearly the total package for a big man. WEAKNESSES: Ruland was below average blocking the ball and also was quite turnover prone. That is mostly nitpicking as Ruland was a versatile beast whose main weakness was that his feet could not hold up over a long period of time for a more prosperous career. SIGNIFICANT INFO: Nicknamed "McNasty" for his tough, hard nosed play. Had foot issues that caused him to retire early in his career before making a brief comeback. McDonald's All-American, All rookie team and 2 all-star games. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1-5 rate the following for each category[ Ins 4 Jps 4 Fts 3 3Ps 1 Hnd 2.5 Pas 5 ORb 4 DRb 4.5 PsD 4 PrD 1.5 Stl 1.5 Blk 1.5 Qck 3 Str 4.5 Jmp 3 Sta 4
