STRENGTHS: Mo is what any offensively gifted team needs, a true PG and a floor general on the defensive end. He will get under the skin of his foes to the point of causing them to the turn the ball over at an alarming rate, and when Mo gets the steal he will know exactly who to get the ball too for easy buckets.  Cheeks made 4 consecutive All Defesenive 1st team selections and during that span he led the NBA in steals and ranked 5th in assists.  He now holds down the 5th all time spot in steals and the 11th all time spot in assists.

WEAKNESSES: Cheeks will almost always turn down an open shot to try and get the ball to a teammate, and in some cases this can go from an easy 2 points to a turnover and a easy fast break in the other direction.  And if Mo is behind the 3 point line, the defense knows that he is either going to try and drive and kick or just pass the ball away as Cheeks just doesn't want anything to do with that 3 point shot.

STRENGTHS: Defense was Mo Cheeks greatest strength, a great
ball defender and one of the best stealers in league history. Cheeks averaged
2.1SPG over the course of his 15-year NBA career including a career high 2.6SPG
in 81/82 and 86/87 seasons. At the time of his retirement from the NBA in 1993,
Cheeks was the NBA all-time leader in steals and ranked fifth all-time in
assists. He was named to four straight NBA All-Defensive teams from 1983 to
1986. Passing was another strength, averaging 6.7APG over the course of his
career including a career high 9.2APG in 85/86 season, he was pretty good a
limiting his turnovers also.

WEAKNESSES: Cheeks wasn't never really that much of a scorer averaging just 11.1PPG over his NBA career, three point shooting was probably his biggest weaknesses not shooting many in his career.

STRENGTHS: Maurice Cheeks was a star point guard who played 13 seasons in the NBA. In that time, Maurice averaged 12.6 ppg, 7.6 apg and an outstanding 2.4 spg. Cheeks was an elite defender and passer, making the All-Defensive First Team four straight years from 1983 to 1986. When he retired, Maurice was the all-time leader in steals and #5 all-time in assists (he is now #5 and #11 respectively).

WEAKNESSES: While Mo was an extremely efficient shooter (he shot a career average over 52%), he was particularly bad from 3-point range, where he shot only 25.5% over his entire career. Cheeks' pass first mentality also limited his scoring opportunities a bit, though his teammates likely weren't complaining.

ADDITIONAL NOTES: Mo Cheeks was a 4-time NBA All-Star, as well as a 4-time consecutive NBA All-Defensive First Team choice. He won an NBA title in 1983 with the Philadelphia 76ers and his #10 was retired by the franchise.
