STRENGTHS: Micheal Ray Richardson had one of the more controversial careers in the NBA, as he was a star when he was on the court, but his off the court activities ended up getting him banned for life. Averaging 14.0 ppg, 5.5 rpg and 7.0 apg, Richardson led the league in both assists and steals in his second year as a pro, something that had never been done before. Even today, MRR is #2 all time in career steals per game.

WEAKNESSES: Unfortunately, injuries and a cocaine habit (which earned Micheal Ray his banishment from the NBA) kept Richardson from ever reaching his full potential. MRR was a pretty poor free throw shooter most his career (ending at 69% after getting a big bump his last two seasons), and his 3 point shooting was downright horrendous (22% in over 500 career attempts).

ADDITIONAL NOTES: MRR was a 4-time All-Star, as he led the league in steals three times and assists once. He also was named to the All Defensive First Team twice in his eight year NBA career.
