Pros: George Gervin is alot like Dr. J in the sheer raw ability category. A fantastic jumper, but unlike Dr. J, Gervin is a speed machine. He has the ability to get around his guy fast and get to the rim for his patented finger roll. He'll be another unique player that as a rookie should be able to attack the rim, get to the line and hit free throws making him an offensive machine. Once he fills out some of his potential he should be able to knock down some jump shots along with his dunking ability.
Cons: You'd like to see a little more rebounding ability from a guy his size, comparable to Elgin Baylor. Also, he'll never make an All Defensive team without alot of work with training from his GM. One could really hope for better hands or passing so that he could play SG if needed.
Overall: Too good of a talent not to go early. Gervin may be a guy that can be the cornerstone of a franchise, but I think he'd excel with another guy to take some of the burden off of George and his lack of defense. If he were to fall to 4 or 5 he'd be a great player for a new expansion team.
