Earl Monroe SG | 6-4, 185lbs | 22
PROS | "The Pearl" averaged over 20 point per game in college and looks to continue that trend in the ABCA. He has a well-rounded inside/outside game and he's able to handle the ball a little which should take pressure off your Point Guard. Earl is also an above-average defender who uses his athletic skills to stifle opposing players. His athletic ability will help him get around slower guards and use his finishing skills at the hoop. His midrange game is pretty solid too so he can pull up and hit an open jumper. He'll be a tough guy to guard.
CONS | Monroe is a little short to be a Shooting Guard and he doesn't have the passing skills of some of the elite Shooting Guards in the league but those are pretty minor complaints. Also a below average rebounder. I wouldn't expect more than 3-4 rebounds from him a game.
OVERALL | Earl is one of the three best offensive players in this draft. It's a toss-up between him, Earl Manigualt, and Elvin Hayes. Since Hayes is a big comparing them would be tough but he is just as talented as Manigault offensively. Doesn't really have a weakness but doesn't have one talent (save speed) that he's elite at. Still, a good piece to add to your team - maybe not a franchise player but a very solid #2.
PROJECTION | #2-4
