Elvin Hayes Power Forward 6'9" 235 lbs. 11/17/1992abcalegends.com/players/player353.htmPROS: Elvin Hayes will enter the league a more than capable rebounder who will use his excellent strength and jumping skills to carve out space. He does possess an ability to score the ball inside. Expect Elvin to block a good number of shots and come away with a fair amount of steals as well. Best part about him is his potential to be top notch in Inside Scoring, Rebounding on both ends, and defending the post with blocks as added. He comes in already ready to play extended minutes with his stamina and his body is ready to play Power Forward and some Center physically. Potential to knock a fair number of his free throws down as well as a potential middle of the road jumper. CONS: At 23 years old, Hayes is already older than a good number of young stars in the league. He doesn't possess a great jumpshot and has no outside range or ability to guard the perimeter. Don't expect much in the way of playmaking either as his handling and passing skills leave much to be desired. Also, there is a debate whether he fits better at the 5 than the 4 but lacks the real size to play the 5 all game long. OVERALL: Hayes has all the makings of a superstar in ABCA Legends and I fully expect him to reach his potential. He could easily change the direction of a franchise and is the front runner for Rookie of the Year. Elvin Hayes will leave a lasting mark on the league as both a capable inside scorer and an elite rebounder and defender. He is the Class of the 2016 Draft. PROJECTION: 1st Overall

Elvin Hayes PF #11 6'9" 235lbs , 11/17/1992 College: Houston
Pros: Despite his lack of bulk and size, Hayes seems poised to be one of the best rebounders in the league for years to come. Hes excellent at establishing low post position and scores efficiently down low. His athletic jumping and strength ability allow him to score over people in the low block, and to be a shiotblocking threat on the defensive end. Whoever drafts him knows what hes getting, a bonafide starter with elite rebounding and inside scoring, and a guy who possesses enough talent to become a dependable low post defender and intimidator over the years. Prime candidate for the rookie of the year.
Cons: He comes in the league a bit late, already being 23 years old, which means he will have less "prime" years in the L, and will be older when his ( presumably ) first max deal ends and when the 2nd extension is due. Hes not an outside offensive threat, and his mechanics say that he will never become a threat. He could also have problems if teamsdecide to double team him as hes not a great passer. His defense isnt great to start with, although hes already 23, but hes smart and talented enough to upgrade those skills over the years.
Overall: He definately is a franchise guy wherever he lands. His combination of scoring, elite rebounding, shotblocking and talent make him a borderline superstar already, an almost complete player and a guy on who you could build around.
Projection: 1st overall

Elvin Hayes PF | 6-9, 235lbs | 23
PROS | Elvin is in beast-mode every second of every day (unless you count his college stats). He may walk in an become the best Power Forward in the game in a couple seasons. He has the potential to be one of the best low-post scorers in the league. The day he comes in he'll be better than 90% of the big men in the league at scoring. He's already a pretty solid rebounder and that's before any ABCA off-season training camp. He is one of those "sky's the limit" type prospects.
CONS | The only real con is that he isn't tall enough to play Center but he is an ideal Power Forward. Is that technically a "con"? I suppose he needs to work on his defense to reach his full potential but you'd expect that to come. There is some legitimate concern about his lack of collegiate dominance. He only managed to average just under 11 ppg in over 33 mpg. Will he able be to rise to the level of his competition in Legends? He's also a year or two older than some of the other elite prospects in the draft.
OVERALL | There is NO WAY that Elvin Hayes is anything but the first overall pick. He does everything a post player should do. I dunno, you might even be able to convince me he'd be in the mix for a Top 2 pick in any draft. He is the only sure-fire franchise prospect in this draft.
