Moscow Deals: Tani Cohen-Mintz Mihai Nedef Adolph Rupp
Sydney Deals: Connie Simmons Al Ferrari Jim Washington
What do you guys think? Its a pretty big trade for both teams.
EDIT- I had to vote even because you cant see the results without a vote. I fail.

I think this takes Sydney out of title contention and puts CSKA in it.

I say Moscow wins by a bit. They get the best player in the deal and don't really give up a lot. It's not a stupid trade for Kings, although trading for expiring contracts is way too risky.

Yeah.
I'm not sure TCM re-signs with Sydney (given what he is paid now) - they might wanna be concerned about what it will cost to retain TCM longterm.
If he were an elite bigman that wouldn't be an issue but he seems to have not much grown potential left.
Someone is gonna overpay him and I hope it isn't the team who already overpaid a certain PG.

Not 100% sold on how Connie will do this upcoming season.

I voted this was an even trade. I would really like to hear from the people who claim Moscow wins by a lot.
There were multiple factors that need to be weighed in judging this trade. I loved Connie but I've been shopping him for some time but refused to deal him for 10 cents on the dollar. He didn't carry the name value of a Bill Russell or George Mikan even though he put up all star numbers.
His value was severely hindered by his age and upcoming free agency and well his lack of name appeal. I contemplated many different deals for him and ultimately decided that I wanted to get back a young piece and something else that will help my team win now. I feel as if I succeeded in not only getting a young piece, but one who is actually an above avg starter in Tani-Cohen Mintz. He's only 22 and my scout views a lot of potential left in him. Separately, I obtained Mihai Nedef, who I've been after from CSKA for some time now. He will be my starting SF who is an excellent scorer and plays defense both on the perimeter and in the post.
Another major component that people fail to realize is that Connie will be worth a lot of money. It's signficantly harder to trade a 30+ player tied to a long term deal then a 22 yr old player tied to a long term deal. I'd be willing to pay for Tani-Cohen but paying for Simmons would and could have crippled my team for years.
Some may feel I took myself out of title contention but I disagree. I may have lost a big time scorer but I upgrade my defense substantially, I improve the weakest part of my team which was rebounding and I upgraded my SF spot as well all while getting younger.

But didn't you just give a 29yr old ADM a team crippling contract this offseason? What's one more for a stud like Connie?

But didn't you just give a 29yr old ADM a team crippling contract this offseason? What's one more for a stud like Connie? There's actually a big difference between giving a 31 yr old a 4yr deal versus a 29yr old a 4 yr deal. Add in the hardcap issues I would be dealing with, yes it was not plausible.
