6' 1" 180 lbs - Point Guard - UCLA
Pros: Goodrich is an offensive powerhouse. The little guy from UCLA can score and score well. His focus thus far in his career has been on the offensive side of the game and he enters the league with C+ C+ B C scoring ratings. With lots of roomto grow, Goodrich should develop into a dynamo that can drop a quick 30 on any team in the league. He's also has some serious athletic ability with very good quickness, jump, and stamina numbers.
Cons: As much as down on our knees for Goodrich's ability (and potential ability) to score, he's just not there in terms of his passing, handles, or his defense. As a matter of fact, this guy could be one of the biggest defensive liabilities in the draft. While may of the prospects are "one-dimensional" it seems, this is obvious in terms of Goodrich. He enters the league with D perimeter defense and F+ steals. If you thought that was bad, how about a PG that starts with C handles, and D+ passing?
Summary: It seems to be a running theme that while this draft has plenty of hall-of-fame talent, that is kept in check somewhat by the lack of "complete" players right out of the box. As far as I can tell Goodrich just isn't a point guard. So that begs the question, what is he? We'll he can shoot and score so he must be a shooting guard? Well, he's tiny and he's not very good defensively so what's going to happen when the Sam Ranzinos of the league line up against him at the 2 spot?
I think Goodrich is a very good player, but any team that gets him better value offense to the point where defense doesn't matter. Goodrich should develop into a reliable starter, but you have to wonder if he'll ever get it together to be a player without major liabilities. I think the CPU projecting him at #4 right now is absurd.
Projected Pick: 10-14 due to the lack of anything but offense
