Name : Chris Kaman
Position : C
Number : 35
DOB : April 28, 1982
Age when drafted : 21 (6th overall)
College : Central Michigan
Hometown : Wyoming, Michigan
Height : 7'0"
Weight : 268 lbs
STRENGTHS :
Kaman is a nice overall big man. He's tall but he has good hands and he's a great free throw shooter. He's mostly a scoring big man, capable of scoring 18.5ppg in a season (2009-10), but he's also a good rebounder/shot blocker, capable of being on top of the league in both rankings (12.7rpg, 2.8bpg in 2007-08). Averages 15.0ppg, 10.2rpg and 1.7bpg per 36 minutes in his career. Can make steals now and then. He was extremely useful this year as a backup for the 51-31 Blazers (8.6ppg, .515 FG%, 6.5rpg, 0.7bpg in 18.9mpg)
WEAKNESSES :
Kaman does not have the best percentages among centers, but he's still solid (.490 FG% in 2009-10 when he averaged 18.5ppg). He can't shoot, especially from three point rang (0-20 in his career), and he's not suited to the PF position. He's not an overwhelming defensive presence, only average when it comes to stopping his opponent. A little prone to foul trouble (3.6 per 36 minutes in his career), especially early in his career (2.6 fouls in 22.5mpg as a rookie). Not a passer. Had his best season in terrible Clippers teams (23-59 in 2007-08, 29-53 in 2009-10)
SIGNIFICANT INFO :
2010 NBA All Star
Career average 11.4ppg, .489 FG%, .742 FT%, 7.7rpg, 1.3bpg
Played with Germany national team in the 2008 Olympics (10th) and 2011 Eurobasket (9th). He was the 7th best scorer (15.3ppg), best rebounder (9.0rpg) and 2nd best shotblocker (1.9bpg) of the last event.
