The finals series has really only just begun for the Eurasia conference. Round 1 was more an exercise of taking out the trash and hope the trash returns at a later date as some sort of useful, recycled object. 1 can only dream of being lucky enough to play in a conference where you dont even need to be good to make the playoffs. Anyway, lots of sweeping here and a team who's GM got on a box to tell the world how good he is gets rolled.
(1) SYDNEY KINGS vs MOSCOW CSKA (8)
4-0
To put it simply Moscow were just never in this series. The Kings won all 4 games by a total of 91 points which by average is more than 22 points per game. Moscow's 1 shining moment came in game 3 where they heart breakingly lost by just 1 point, an honorable loss. The Sydney Kings would be pleased yet not overly thrilled to win this series and must be pumped up to for the next round. The Kings were led here by Frank Johnson and Mark Aguirre whilst Larry Johnson had to work his way into the series eventually posting decent numbers despite the series being cooked by then. For Moscow Dwayne Wade battled hard and they must be excited about his future.
PLAYER OF THE SERIES - MARK AGUIRRE
PPG 22.3, REB 4.3, AST 5.3, STL 2.8, BLK 0.3, TO 2.5
Aguirre was the most consistent in a very team orientated series. Aguirre scored 25, 24, 24, 16 respectively as the Kings coasted to victory.

(4) LITHUANIA BC ZALGIRIS vs TEHRAN MAHRAM (5)
2-4
MAKE NO MISTAKE, THIS SERIES WAS A GEM!
The comment out of the Zalgiris camp after their disappointing exit was "well that sucked donkey dick", and clearly the 'GM of the year' hopeful candidate has reason to shocked. It was a good start to the series for Zalgiris as they grabbed the opening game at home thanks to good performances from Isiah, Mcadoo and Sonny Parker off the bench but Mahram came back at Zalgiris the following night picking up a vital win on the road as the series went back to Tehran with the series ties 1 game a piece. On their home court Tehran took command of the series with a narrow 2 point victory only to come out the next night and lose by 4 points with Bob McAdoo and Antonio Daniels hitting the scorecard hard for Zalgiris. The series was once again tied up this time at 2-2. At this point neither team could control their own home court advantage and it was unclear just who was going to stand up and take control of this series. Despite game 1's blow that saw Zalgiris win easily each game from then on had been won by no more then 7 points, the next game however would see an epic battle take place as the series headed back to Lithuania. Game 5, after a tight first quarter Mahram open up a 54-39 lead by the main break. Over the next 2 quarters Zalgiris has all the work to do as they try to reel in a 15 point deficit. Yet another big game by Mcadoo draws the game down to the wire but it's all in vein as Tehran hang on to win by just 1 point to lead the series 3-2, Tehran takes the following game in front of their home crowd and the jobs done!
PLAYER OF THE SERIES - GEORGE McGINNIS
PPG 22.3, REB 11.9, AST 2.3, STL 2.0, BLK 2.8, TO 3.2
George McGinnis is the standout here, not just for his own numbers but also the pityful numbers he held Alonzo Mourning to.
2-4

(2) LONDON TOWERS vs ISTANBUL ANADOLU EFES (7)
4-0
Despite the 4-0 score line Istanbul weren't actually that bad in this series. Game 2 they lost by just 3 points and game 3 they came even closer to winning narrowly losing by 2 points. The Tower's lead by Michael Jordan and mid season recruit Robert Parish got the job done in the end without ever really hitting their stride. The Tower's GM seemed so confident that after the game he confessed that he didnt even know which team he just played. Overall, there is nothing to report here, it was a rather dull affair.
PLAYER OF THE SERIES - MICHAEL JORDAN
PPG 24.3, REB 6.8, AST 5.0, STL 2.0, BLK 0.8, TO 3.0
MJ's talent was never really needed in this series. He decided to score a double-double in game for of 31 points, 10 rebounds just for fun.

(3) SAN MIGUEL BEERMEN vs BERLIN ALBA (6)
4-0
The third and final sweep of the Eurasian conference is a bit of a surprise because Berlin aren't a bad team unless you ask the Beermen who destroyed Berlin from the get go. Alex English was solid for Berlin, really solid! In game 1 he scored 30 points and grabbed 12 rebounds then in game two he exploded for 44 points and 13 rebounds and still Berlin couldn't rally behind him to grab a win. Berlin had many strong performers offensively but their severe lack of defense meant Beerman were free to posterize Berlin at will. John Stockton fed the big men all series long as guys like Kemp, Rasheed Wallace and Pau Gasol completely tore apart ALBA. Game 3 was a 1 point game but other then that this series wasn't even close.
PLAYER OF THE SERIES - JOHN STOCKTON
PPG 27.3, REB 8.6, AST 14.8, STL 4.0, BLK 0.5, TO 2.3
John put ALBA to sleep, look at those numbers. Good night!
