Through shrewd drafting and team building (and a lot of TC luck), San Miguel has arguably two of the best players in the league that aren't Hakeem. So, my question is, if you had a gun to your head, which of them would you build your team around...Shawn Kemp or John Stockton? Previously, I'd have gone with John Stockton, who has proven himself to be far and away the best PG in the league on both the offensive and defensive sides of the court. But now, Kemp has made the absurd leap talentwise to add with his athletics to make him the superior PF out there as well. Stockton makes slightly less, but Kemp is 3 years younger and locked up for 5 years. Stockton also has hit the magic 27 year old mark where he shouldn't be at risk for TC death while Kemp could still take TC damage. So...who do you take?

jeez does San Miguel ever have a bad TC Nope - and I don't think it's luck (Ok some of it is of course). There are a few GMs who weight the categories fairly evenly and don't ignore CND and those GM's have generally seen great TC results. In 15 seasons I don't think I've had a single TC "death" and to the opposite have turned around a few guys that previously dropped. San Miguel is one, Toronto is another who outside of PJ Brown I don't think has ever had a young player drop in TC.

I have also never had a TC death, and in fact I've usually had players outperform their draft position. I don't know that there's a perfect science to TC, but it does take a certain amount of finesse. Like, make sure you keep players conditioned, focus training camp on the things they need help in, but don't totally ignore their strengths. Young guard with a great jumpshot and no defense? I put 10 in perimeter D, 5 in outside, 5 in inside, and 5 in conditioning. (Or however those work out.) Maybe other people have drastically different methods, and maybe I've just been lucky and my point distribution is a recipe for TC Death. I dunno. It's worked for me.

I think I have been extremely lucky with training camps and Stock, Kemp and Ewing are examples of that. I do not think there is an exact science to it but some settings give you a better chance to survive. GP and I always have a lot of discussion come TC time. I will not give the credit to myself because I know then next TC my whole team will die .

Ewing should be on the list, it still made ZERO sense to trade him and took you from title favorite to mearly really good
So that should be a poll option
I'd take the best PG in the league over Kemp

We've been the title favourite for 3 years straight with no results. Just thought I'd change up the same boring old trio.

Yeah those settings used to be magic and made Syndey hate me even more than usual because my players always did well. Then out of nowhere.... Death.... So much death.

Death.... So much death. Yep that's how TC works. There's no perfect settings in this game. One year you may see everyone survive and even a jump or two and then next year use similar settings and see a bunch of drops. I've been on both ends of TC with multiple jumps and drops and I fully acknowledged that it's been for the most part the luck of the draw. And I say for the most part because obviously the settings the player uses do have some importance but its not as important as some probably think.
