With so much trade talk and so many variables after the first couple of picks in the draft, I'm interested to see what different people are looking to do with their teams right out of the gates...

To be honest I am not sure. I'm still pretty up in the air.
If I stay at 10 it will depend who's left. Will Mikan be there? Schayes, Groza, Johnston? I worry about a run on bigs early after Wilt and Bill come off the table.
I may trade out of 10 all together and move back to get picks. Its a very fluid situation right now.

Im in that same spot.. I worry that the league isnt deep enough in talent with 30 teams in an era that didnt have half that many so its hard to know what is going to be around after the 1st couple of rounds. So like John I could go a few different ways, should be interesting to see the trick is to be really good or really bad coming out of this yet i feel like most of us will be in that oh so fun middle ground

I think people drafting after the lottery would be very foolish to draft for the future. There's not going to be a transcendent talent available at that point, but there will be many high-quality players. While having the #1 pick seems amazing, realize that teams #2 pick will be the 60th pick, lol. They will almost definitely NOT win the title, IMO. A team in the 15-30 range has a much better chance, IMO, of taking the title. This, of course, assumes trades will be relatively level-headed and no one will fleece anyone in a trade.
Quick count reveals 47 (I think) green/blue players (current talent) - meaning #60 will be picking yellow barring a trade...there are 37 blue potential players (meaning everyone will get a future border-line all-star player...basically, I'm OK with the 18th pick lol. Superstar blue + yellow talent vs 2 greens with blue potential? Hm...

I'm personally looking best available, as I won't be trading my 1st round pick (though I wouldn't mind trading up and picking up another) and as KK Partizan stated at 17/44 I'm in the sweet spot where I can pick up two relatively good players instead of one great player and one mediocre one in the first two rounds.

First round will be interesting for sure. Guess it all depends on who goes before my pick but at pick 11 hopeful we can end up with a nice player and go from there.

So i voted undecided, but based on the inaugural ABCA trade I just took part in, I think I'll be going for a bit of a youth movement.

I was orignally going to just try and trade down and out, but changed my mind after looking through the talent. Not too sure, but will be an interesting draft.

I wonder who will go the entire youth/potential route. There's quite a few intriguing prospects out there.
