...but when you're $10 mil under the cap, there's no point of wasting that salary signing 3 mediocre bench players when you can get a starter. That's a 1-year look at what is now a 4-year problem as he'll be eating up 12.5-15% of your cap for the next 4 seasons. History, it doth repeat.

However, the issue is that this was the last year I was going to have cap space available. Next year, Grant Hill is getting his money and I'd only have the MLE/LLE to play with. This way, I fill out my backcourt rotation and can focus on resigning a couple guys from last season.

Combined with what Ainge is making that's 20 mil less per season you now have to fill your roster with talent.
