FA 1 is uploading (the save is already up).
There was some player movement.

MRR for $7M is nice. Jiri for $1M is the kind of veteran reunion tour move I should have made last year.

Loved my Day One of FA:
Adrian Dantley re-signed for 16,500,000 | $17,737,500 | $18,975,000 | $20,212,500 | $21,450,000 (to) = 94,875,000
his max was 18,000,000 | 19,350,000 | 20,700,000 | 22,050,000 | 23,400,000 = 103,500,000
He continued the trend of Otis Birdsong and gave me a good discount that'll help keep the vets together.
Elvin Hayes re-signed for 6+ million less than his max starting salary for 2 year with a team option for the third. That allows him to expire at the same time as Zoran to clear up cap.
Dan Majere is pretty athletic and should be a nice minimum piece off the bench
Bobby Jones came back for a 1 + TO deal and will fit back into the starting lineup or off the bench depending on how some of my guys do in TC.
Willis Reed signed for a minimum and I'm super excited to have the captain finally on the Knicks even if it's at 33 years old. He'll be a contributor off the bench.

Got Pippen back and added some nice (albeit old) depth on the cheap in Lee Shaffer, Walt Wesley, and Pee Wee Kirkland.
Feel a lot more confident about this team now with these additions.

Brought back Kemp to lead us this year in the front court. Couple small signings in TVA and Threat who should be good bench guys.
Lets see what happens.

6. We gave Rik Smits some money to come be a decent Center for 25 mpg (damn you, B stamina) while JO is developing. He's not great, but everyone I bid on ended up re-signing except Clark Kellogg. At least we have something to show for this off season.
Still have ~$11 mil left, but I'm not sure if anyone left is worth it.

I think he gives you more legit size which your team needed. You already had good guards and 10 mil isn't too much for a solid big. I also think there is some nice talent left too.

I agreed with London, I thought Smits was a smart signing, not overpaying and what your team desperately needed in the post. With that being said, I was SHOCKED you didn't sign Clark Kellogg. He was my #1 prediction for the REAL overpaid FA of the season.

He was my #1 prediction for the REAL overpaid FA of the season. Appreciate the kind words from you both. I only bid like $34 mil on Kellogg, and that was with a team option on the end, so I wasn't really close to signing him. I like to get ex-Hoosiers and Pacers when I can, but I have enough bigs already that don't defend the post. I didn't need a 3rd 17/8 player with shoddy defense in my frontcourt. Smits should work out. We'll have to play him the first half of each quarter, then give him 6 minutes + the quarter break to catch his breath.

5. I really like pressey on that contract, but didn't get any discount bigs which my team sorely needs.

I sent in a bunch of short-term bids. Managed to get McGinnis, which should more than make up for losing Smits. I need to add another player or two, but this team should be much better than last year's.

I'll give myself an 8, it would've been a 10 but I lost Doc Rivers to Milan. I was only willing to give him 7 million over 3 years and I didn't think he was worth much more than that since he isn't a very good offensive player. That was a big reason why I drafted Baron, just in case I lost Doc. I'm pretty happy with picking up James Edwards as a 3rd big, he'll be nice to have just in case Bias or Walton gets hurt. Also picked up a bunch of nice depth guys like Reggie Miller, Vernon Maxwell, Derek Anderson, Jon Barry, and Lee Maybarry. Can't complain about that.

i knew im going to lose McGinnis... didnt offer a max but only something about 10M...
instead of if i got: Clark Kellogg for $42,700,000 over 4 years... Stacey King for $7,157,500 over 2 years... Dee Brown for $4,090,000 over 2 years... and re-signed PF Bob McAdoo for $25,800,000 over 3 years...
4 is my number...

Signed Danny Ainger for $10 mil per season. Saw a few comments about being a drastic overpay, but when you're $10 mil under the cap, there's no point of wasting that salary signing 3 mediocre bench players when you can get a starter. I can now go over the cap and resign my previous players, too. Yay!
