Is Danny Manning that good? Can't believe I turned down old KK's offer of Manning for Larry Nance just after his rookie season.

Manning is pretty good, yes...but when I can get last year's MVP (and winner of two of the last three MVPs) for him and a guy who has regressed badly this year in Hondo, I had to make the deal.

Manning jumped in TC, is entering his prime and has a great team friendly deal. English is already in decline when it comes to his athleticism, so he's relegated to PF if you ask me. I don't think Hondo is a slouch but I prefer this for Seattle as alba still has a glaring hole at SG.

Seattle gets younger and a good player. Manning is Purple according to my scout.
I hafta give the edge longterm to Seattle.
Short-term... we'll hafta see how ALBA finishes the season/playoffs (and next season). English is the better play now.

Lol at NY being included in the poll. This only benefits me if I get to the conference finals so a lot of work to be done and even then Seattle is a game plan master so it'd still be a rough series.
Manning is a big get for Seattle, we've been talking about him trying to get him for a while now. Sydney and I were talking about Manning jumping up to purple potential in this most recent TC and he's locked in (he'll be 27 before next TC) so he can only go up before declining due to age.
I like English and I think his impact will be big for Plossl this year. The only thing I am concerned with is playing him at SF. I don't think thats his ideal situation since his perimeter play on the offense is clearly behind his post play. I think to get the most out of him you put him at PF but that's obviously not an option for Berlin with Schmidt and Parish in the lineup.
I'd lean towards Seattle winning this deal in the long run but if Plossl can make some noise in the playoffs this year and rearrange some pieces in the off-season to make this fit closer to the ideal then I like it for him as well.

I remember when people tried to tell me that Manning was a 6th man at best.....lmao. Yeah he jumped since you had him but he's had starter potential for the past few seasons. That's the thing though a few seasons ago (and even now) he is been judged based on potential. He's a clear starter but he's not a superstar or anything at this point.

I hasn't jumped that much. Some B+s turned to A-s thats it. The potential and current ratings are almost all the same from last season, when Warriors tried convincing me that he was a 6th man at best, when we were discussing my "flawed" roster.

He definitely jumped in potential, he was never purple to my scout last year and after TC he was.

He definitely moved to another tier from where he was last season.

He definitely moved to another tier from where he was last season. I don't think he did...I think he just progressed regularly during TC. He always had this kind of potential. His TC spike was actually last year I think.

I disagree because he definitely jumped this season to purple but he may have (more than likely did) had another jump that our him in the high blue range (which would cause some to see him as purple). But I saw a jump this season and the other GMs that are usually pretty good at spotting the jumps saw one this season to so I'm almost positive he jumped this season.

I give Berlin a win if they can trade for a SG before the deadline. Otherwise, no need to trade for him if they don't have a complete contending roster.

I was a bit surprised to see this so much in my favor honestly. English is a difference maker. I think I'm def. taking a step back for this season having dealt him away. We'll see how he holds up going forward though.

NY because that is the equivalent of like it for both. Seattle extends it's window longterm, Berlin opens a window now
