Name: Antonio Davis
Position: C/PF
Number: 33
DOB: October 31, 1968
Age when drafted: 21
College: UTEP
Hometown: Oakland, California
Height: 6'9"
Weight: 215lbs
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRENGTHS: What a pro. Rare for bigmen, Davis blossomed after the age of 30 due to his incredible fitness routine. He didn't play his first NBA game until the age of 25, and up until the age of 30 he averaged just 9.0PPG and 6.0RPG. In 1999 he was traded to the Toronto Raptors, and for 5 seasons between the age of 30 and 34 he averaged 12.9PPG and 9.2RPG (including 3.1 ORPG) in 34.9 minutes per game. He was an integral part of the franchises first ever playoff runs, and his best season came in 2000-2001 when he made the All-Star team, averaging 13.7 PPG, 10.1 RPG (including 3.5 ORPG) and 1.9 BPG. Although undersized (only 6'9" 215lbs), Davis played Center for a lot of his career and was able to shutdown the opponents bigmen with his combination of raw strength and quickness. Good free-throw shooter, averaging a career-best 82% in 2001-2002
WEAKNESSES: Wasn't the most efficient bigman, with a career FG% of 0.445. Due to his size he mostly settled for mid-range jumpers. He was an average shotblocker for a bigman, averaging 1.0BPG for his career. Finished his career averaging just 1.1 APG
SIGNIFICANT INFO:
- 1 All-star game appearance
- Made the playoffs 9 times with 3 different teams (5 IND, 3 TOR, 1 CHI)
- Exceptional leader on and off the court
- 10th in NBA career rebounds
