STRENGTHS:
Marion fell to the 9th pick in the 1999 draft and quickly showed why he deserved to go higher. Marion had great speed and jumping ability and used that to his advantage to get to the basket for big jams. Great rebounder in his prime putting up a career high 11.8 in 05-06. Good FT shooter at 81% for his career. Never a number one option but could put the ball in the basket as showcased by his career high 21.8 PPG in 05-06. An above average shooter from long range at 33% for his career. Having said that, Marion's claim to fame was his elite level defense. Using his athleticism Marion was an excellent perimeter defender and could also guard the post despite his small frame. Averaged a great steal rate in his prime with a career high 2.3 in 02-03. Also had a good knack for blocking shots.
WEAKNESSES:
Shawn was not a very talented passer averaging just under 2 APG for his career. Not many weakness for this ultra talented SF but he deteriorated quickly after leaving Phoenix.
