Pros: Cescutti's calling card has been his jumpshot and his defensive abilities. In the European game he has been able to prove an effective scorer in the pick & roll and pick & pop oriented systems. He is quite quick, which really shows on the defensive end of things where he is adept at getting in passing lanes and forcing turnovers. Scouts around the league are very high on his potential to become an elite defender, which is increasingly valuable as the league continues to see greater depth at the 2 and 3. Cons: While he may be the prototypical shooting guard physically speaking, Cescutti has a number of gaps in his game in areas you would like to see your 2 excel. Chief amongst these are his poor handling and passing abilities, which limits him offensively to more of a spot up shooter. While a great shooter from within the arc, his range fails to extend to the 3-point line. Cescutti is also a relatively weak player, which is reflected in his nearly non-existant rebounding skills. Overall: With Cescutti you are potentially getting a great defensive player, with the ability to contribute a decent amount offensively. He is one of the younger draft prospects at 20 years old which certainly works in his favor. There are some curious gaps in his game which will keep him out of the top half of the lottery, but he certainly is a good pick up for a team needing a defensive stopper at the wing positions. Projection: 11-15
