Name: Stacey Augmon
Position: SG
Number: 32
DOB: 4/5/2003
Age when drafted: 22
College: UNLV
Hometown: Pasadena, CA
Height: 6'6
Weight: 209
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRENGTHS: Defense is Augmon's calling card. That, and being the tremendous glue guy who was key to Jerry Tarkanian's Runnin' Rebels. He's a long-limbed shooting guard who also guarded forwards at Vegas. Comes in with pro-level defensive instincts including how to play passing lanes and hound wing players. Athletically, he can play in the pros with his jumping and long arms. Doesn't tend to look for his own shot; he's more of a ball reverser and a guy who sets very solid screens on the wing. This is the kind of guy that teams like to develop over time.
WEAKNESSES: Speaking of time, it's going to take a lot of it for his offensive game. Very average at the college level at all facets of offense...except for his train-wreck of a 3 point jumper. His 3 point percentage is a shade above pathetic, and that was with a shorter line in the NCAA. His weak ballhandling may take him out of the backcourt forever...he couldn't play the point if he had to. Stamina could be an issue at the next level as well, because he expends so much energy on the defensive end. He's also a poor foul shooter, which isn't a surprise seeing his offensive game. His character has also been questioned because of an uneven work ethic.
SIGNIFICANT INFO: Nicknamed "Plastic Man" because of his long arms and defensive intensity. ESPN analyst Digger Phelps has said that if he would put in the time on his offensive game, he could be a big-time prospect. That was 4 years ago, and we're still waiting.
