Name: Jamal Mashburn Position: SF Number: 24 DOB: Born: November 29th, 1972 Age when drafted: 21 (1993) College: Kentucky Hometown: Bronx, New York Height: 6'8 Weight: 240 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STRENGTHS: Jamal Mashburn was solid offensive player who also was very crafty with the ball from the small forward spot, averaging 4.0 assists per game for his career, even better at the end of his career. He also improved steadily as a FT shoter, but didn't start out that way. He averaged over 20 PPG 6 times in his career and was a decent man to man defender. He was a good athlete. He got the line a lot, averaging 4.8 FT per game. WEAKNESSES: Jamal wasn't a great rebounder averaging only 8.2% rebounding rate for his career, primarily because he wasn't great on the offensive glass. He didn't force many blocks and was only average in creating steals. He didn't have the tightest handle to go with his above average passing. He was never a great long range shooter, or efficient in overall shooting %.
