STRENGTHS:
Michael Finley was a versatile, offensively focused player capable of spending time at both wing spots. He score nearly 20 PPG in 9 seasons in Dallas during the peak of his career. He also was a very crafty ball handler averaging 4.6 assists per 36 minutes for his career. He was an excellent 3pt shooter with a .375 career mark, and a very good free throw shooter too (.811). He generated a decent amount of steals, and blocks as well relative to other small forwards and guards. He was also respectable at guarding his own man, though not elite in that area. His turnover rate was also very good, under 10% for his career, and he led the league in lowest turnover rate 3 times, which is remarkable. He had high stamina and played over 38 MPG 7 times in his career. He was an elite athlete as well
WEAKNESSES:
Finley was a poor rebounder at SF and a below average rebounder when at SG, especially on the offensive end. He was solid, but not a highly efficient shooter inside 3 point range, leading to a .444 career FG% average. Overall, not a 1st option or top defender, but a great 2nd scorer.
