Anyone else play Fantasy Football?
In a league we're allowed 3 keepers but I have 4 guys I wanna keep. We can keep them for last year's amount +$4, so I can keep...
RGIII for $17 Kaepernick for $5 Alfred Morris for $5 Jimmy Graham for $11
We start with $200, so yes, all of these guys are absolute steals... the questions is.. what 3 do I keep?
It's 50/50 PPR/TD.

If you think RGIII will be healthy I'd say it's up to do you want CK or Graham. I don't know what players go for in your league on average so not sure if 11 is that much or not if he puts up big numbers. He is a Saint right? They should be better with Payton back. If he isn't a Saint then ignore that

The choice is easily to keep Kaepernick, Morris and Graham...RGIII is no guarantee to be ready for week 1, has said he isn't going to change his style of play and thus will always be a major injury risk. Most analysts put Kaepernick as the better QB right now accordingly, giving you the better choice for $12 less. You also get a top 8 back and the top TE for a $21 total, slightly more than 10% of your entire budget. The only reason there would be any question is if this was a two QB league and you were thinking of not keeping Graham at all (as Morris for $5 is a no-brainer under any circumstance), but I still wouldn't take the risk on RGIII's knee in that format. Graham is superior to every other TE in receptions and TDs with Gronk needing yet another surgery...I think the choice is easy, regardless of format.

Ya it would be a huge risk to keep RGIII, but if you're willing to take it, it has a huge upside (huge downside as well)

In our system guys like Graham were scheduled to go for $35 last year.
A healthy RGIII would be worth 40+ no problem.
My brother-in-law thinks I should keep both QBs and deal one.. I dunno what to do.

I dunno what to do. That is always a terrible keeper strategy, because now you are dependant upon what someone else is willing to do after the keepers are already set...I'd rather lock up a top QB, a top RB and THE top TE while having 90% of your budget left for the auction...

I am not sold on either QB long term so at least lock the guy up who will be playing for sure this year. Sucks to let RG3 go but you could win this season by buying high on another stud or two.

I know we have some Washington fans in here..
Let me ask them.. is Alfred Morris still their featured back going forward? What have you heard locally about RG3's condition? Do your beat writers say that he's coming along well or plans on playing?
I trust those reports more than the shit ESPN puts out.

I'm honestly so sick of the local daily RGIII updates...Grant Paulson, the beat reporter for 106.7 the Fan is at the stadium every day, giving non-sense I could give a shit about..."Griffin ran 2 miles today", "Griffin did some jumping jacks while listening to some rap music with his front line", "Griffin bought a new jump rope today"...he seems ahead of schedule according to the beat reporters, but that doesn't mean he'll be ready for week 1 either. It is still too far away to tell.
As for Morris, he is definitely the #1 right now. They are going to ride him as much, if not more than last year, trying to limit either the wear on RGIII or the exposure to Kirk Cousins early on.

I think its a pretty easy to just let RG3 go. If someone else wants to pay $40 for him next season, you win even more. Getting your starting QB, a great starting RB, and the best TE with Gronk out for only $21 dollars gives you the flexibility to buy any other RB you want as well as get great receivers.
Im in two leagues, going to be three this year. My first league is a 10 man with a group of guys I went to High School with, they invited me to play and I won the first two seasons I was there and going for the 3-peat baby. Im confident I can do it.
Other then that Im in another 10 man but last season was ruined due to collusion. There is a guy in there that winning is the most important thing to him and basically he defines himself by what he has and how much he wins. Its really lame so I don't pay much attention to it. He didn't win either lol. Then this season Im going to be running a 16 man league for cheap, as a fun thing on the side that can net you a few hundred dollars. Fantasy Football is the shit and I cant get enough of it.
A few words of advice to anyone playing is do your research. Do a ton of research and don't go off what all the 'experts' say because most people who don't do any research draft their team using that list and you can get steals at any point in the draft if you find players you like. My first season I had no clue what was going on and was able to get Arian Foster and Cam Newton and ride them to the win, but my second season I knew what I was doing and put in a lot of work. I was able to get RG3 in the late rounds (Rookie), get CJ Spiller later who ended up replacing DMAC (I took the chance on him and was able to recover with Spiller), and I was also able to get Julio Jones (2nd year) and Doug Martin (Rookie) because I did my research and found these guys and was able to take them late (but earlier then they were projected). Also be aware of players you DONT like and that you wont touch, sometimes you will be wrong, but often times you are right and you dodge a terrible guy and another team will take him and lose with him so its win/win.
Also if you have a great feeling about a guy, don't be afraid to reach a little bit for them. If they have obvious talent (in your opinion) but it seems that they are going too late, go for it. Try to reach on relatively unknown players or players who are poised for a breakout more so then reaching on established players that people know. Wait on QBs, there are a ton. If you are able to get an elite QB/RB from the same team (like Wilson/Lynch or Kaep/Gore ect..) they will combine for consistency as well. If you QB doesn't get points, your RBS does and vice versa and most weeks they will both produce. I can't wait for this season. I already have my own list from the end of the last season and Im going to make more shortly and really decided where I think people should go and figure out strats to each round depending on what position Ill be drafting at. You can never get too much information but you can however be uninformed.
I almost forgot, my second season I won because of the Seattle Seahawks defense hahaha. First round of the playoffs they shut out the Cardinals and scored 37 points for my team. I won that game by 3. Then in the Semis and in the Finals they scored 16 and 17 or something like that I squeeked them both out. IT WAS AWESOME haha. I also played against Stevan Ridley when he had 0.3 points and that guy lost by 2. It was perfect haha.

I am in a 16 team league that has been running for quite some years and I finally acquired a legit starting QB in Aaron Rodgers pre keeper selections (he was gonna have to cut some people). The league uses individual defenders and I've finished runner up 2 years in a row thanks to mine.

I've played "individual defenders" format before...just not for me. I honestly don't think I'm playing any fantasy football leagues this year. Fantasy baseball has always been my 1 seed, and other than my major money keeper league I've been in for 15 years now, I've even cut down on that to 2 leagues this year. I just don't have the passion anymore.

Aside of the individual defenders and it being a keeper league, how is the 16 mans? Do you end up having half scrubs half good players or what? Any strategy for drafting?

Mainly keeper and draft to fill holes. I currently have 3 starting QB so someone is without a back-up lol. A few scrubs play but with PPR it is easier to find value in guys like Jacquizz Rodgers.

I won 2 of three leagues last year and went RB with my first 2 two and then the 4th or 5th round picking up a QB and one WR with the other picks...
