Name: Benoit Benjamin Position: Center Number: 00 DOB: November 22, 1964 Drafted: 1st Round (3rd Pick) Age when drafted: 22 College: Creighton Hometown: Monroe, Louisiana Height: 7’0” Weight: 250 lbs
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRENGTHS: Big bodied and talented center who can score on the block with an effective but rudimentary post game (jump hook). Averaged 2.0bpg for career and blocked at least 2.5 per game his first 5 years in the league. A really solid FT shooter for a big man (shot .721 for career) and had a decent 12-14 foot jumper as long as it wasn’t used in big doses. Strong player.
WEAKNESSES: Conditioning and durability are problems he ballooned up during his career limiting his effectiveness. He only played in 80+ games once ironically playing 83 games. Not very quick, could be described as lumbering and struggles greatly on the perimeter. Only an average rebounder for his size. At times is turnover prone, especially for a that never scored 20ppg.
SIGNIFICANT INFO: 24th all time in blocks per game (2.0), 32nd all-time in total blocks. 1982 McDonald’s All American. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
