Name: Dan Majerle
Position: Small Forward/Shooting Guard
Number: 9
DOB: September 9, 1965
Drafted: 1st Round (14th Pick)
Age when drafted: 22
College: Central Michigan University
Hometown: Traverse City, Michigan
Height: 6’6”

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRENGTHS: Aggressive wing who functioned as both a starter and a 6th man in his career. Has
4 consecutive seasons of 15+points, 4+ boards, 3+ assists and 1+ steals. Bomber from downtown who is unafraid to shooter and 1360 3s in career shooting .358 and .741 from line making him a good but not great shooter. Aggressive offensive rebounder for a wing hitting 1.5+ orb/g 5 times in career. Thunder Dan nickname came from his great athletic ability which led to some thunderous dunks. Very quick for a SF and used his athleticism to play strong defense. Low turnover player.
WEAKNESSES: Struggled with injuries at time during his career especially a back injury later on in his career that limited his explosive athleticism. Despite being a volume 3pt shooter was never a super-efficient player, struggling at times from the line and overall with shot selection (career. .431 FG). He struggles guarding bigger forwards and has basically no offensive game on the block relying on drives, dunks and 3s. Never became the super explosive player some though capable of, perhaps due to his unselfish nature. Durability concerns missed 10+ games in 7 seasons.
SIGNIFICANT INFO: Nickname “Thunder Dan”, 3 Time NBA All Star, 2 Time 2nd Team All Defensive, 87th All time in Steals, 27th in both 3pt FG and 3PT FGM, twice led NBA in 3’s attempted and made in a season.
